The cottage is in a beautiful location and has clearly been thoughtfully and lovingly furnished and decorated. The views and ambient ocean sounds are like a balm to the soul.

I’m very regretfully sharing this information as I would prefer to relay it directly to the owner so improvements could be made for future guests without airing it publicly however… 1) you cannot contact the cottage owner. It is rented through [Link Redacted] who are also not reachable by phone or email. The key holder is friendly and fairly accommodating but I got the general impression of not wanting to be the point of contact or bothered with questions. 2) The boiler had been turned off and the switch was impossible to locate. I had no hot water for 3 days before I had the key holder come sort it out. 4) There is no information provided about the cottage (how the hob works, where the boiler and electrical are in case of power surges, etc) 3)The cottage was NOT clean. The booking indicated a need for check out at 9am and check in at 6pm to allow for thorough cleaning. (This is NINE HOURS) The cottage had clean bed linens, the washrooms appeared cleaned, and that’s about the best that could be said. There was dirty cutlery in the drawer, dirty mugs and dishware on the shelves, the hob had not been wiped down properly, dirty microwave, dust, dirt and miscellaneous rubbish and detritus were found under the couch and on the floor (nothing like being confronted by that visual to help you relax into your yoga…) I will leave it there. I hope that the owner sees this and improves cleanliness standards for future guests.
