Staying at a very historical place, in the original buildings but with all modern comfort, with catering that melts your mouth, has lots of parking space, very friendly and helpful staff. Super for cycling and walking. Close to the Fochteloerveen nature reserve.

A bit pricy but you do get value for your money.

The breakfast was nice, nothing fancy, but good.The room was nice and spacious, and the beds were excellent.The staff were very friendly and very nice.It is also a very nice spot to walk around and learn the history of Veenhuizen.

Very nice hotel, located in a historical place. Very good restaurant. Hiking routes with natural reserve nearby. Helpful and very friendly staff.

the staff in the reception are helpful and friendly . they are super nice

no grocery near and no Uber (that not their fault any way ). without car u feel isolated but the good things they have bicycle to rent .

On an island of tranquility with an interesting historical background, this hotel, transformed from an old hospital is a delight to stay at. During the transformation the aspect of the hospital was kept, when appropriate, giving a charm to the buildings. My room was large and comfy, accessible through and right next to the restaurant, yet not noisy. The restaurant itself is a gastronomic experience I can only recommend to take. The breakfast is based on high quality products, tasty and fresh. All in all a very pleasant (a bit too short) stay.

Being able to order one main course for dinner.Having to order three courses as a set menu too much for me. For this reason evening meal expensive for those with smaller appetites

Really different property, being a former hospital, but interesting and the apartment was amazing and the grounds were very scenic.

No hairdryer in the room.

We had the 4-person family room, which was very suitable for our two boys (12 and 13 years) and dog. Very roomy and with facilities that would have allowed us to cook our own meals. The room was clean and had a nice view of the garden. Staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome, including our dog (which was allowed to accompany us into the restaurant during breakfast). Breakfast was nice, but not extraordinary.

Artistic loft apartment with a lot of history. A really special hotel with an exceptional flair not to be expected on the country side.
