Pros +
- Staff members were ALL extremely helpful, friendly, and seemed to genuinely care about my experience. The tour of the town, gallery, and tea ceremony were lovely bonuses!
- no exaggeration, one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. the rooms are beautiful, the location is fantastic (beautiful views of the lakes), breakfast was delicious, and the service was amazing. All the staff were super friendly and helpful.
- Location, staff friendliness
Cons -
- no complaints about the hotel itself, my one complaint was about the tour we booked through the hotel. The tour co was supposed to drop us at the hotel at end of the day, but instead dropped us off at the train station more than 20 min away in the rain.
- No. Everything was great.
- This is not a five star hotel. The soaps were half empty, there was not enough space for the luggage in the room, loo paper half used, bad hairdryer, nothing that screamed special. The lady at the front desk was very unwelcoming. We were offered massage services on the front desk. We both had the worst massage of our lives. The therapists were not welcoming, they used extreme amounts of force, and made the rest of our stay, while short, really uncomfortable with pain and discomfort.

The staff was amazing. They went above and beyond in helping us.
No. Everything was great.
The room was clean, spacious and really comfortable. We loved the detail we got at the end.

An absolutely fabulous property. Exceptionally clean, good breakfast and staff could not do enough for us. Large room with wonderful views
Nothing, great place and lots on the doorstep
Great boutique hotel in the heart of Guilin. Exceptional stuff! Wonderful location! Good breakfast.
Wonderful staff and magnificent location. Quiet but near everything.
We wish only that we could have stayed longer than one night. The room was spacious and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful, especially with arranging for rides and cruise tickets. Breakfast served in a room with a beautiful view of the lake, was absolutely delicious. We will be back to Aroma Tea House for sure!
We liked everything.
The staff at this hotel was so incredibly sweet and helpful. They spoke really good English, made me a little map with recommended areas to visit and restaurants to try - and even carried my bags to my room and offered me tea when I checked out. The room itself is lovely and comfortable. The little tea nook with the tea set is also lovely to start your morning. It's walking distance to all the essential sights in Guilin and right on the lake for tranquil walks in the day or evening.
The only thing I would change about my stay is that I wish I wasn't on the first floor, since my view was mainly the street / shrubbery. The view from the 5th floor breakfast area was beautiful since you could see the lakes and mountains in the distance, so i'd imagine it's similiarly nice on the higher floors.
Friendly staff, nice and quiet location with lake view.
Location, stuff
Size of the room
Excellent view from the top floor breakfast room. Very friendly staff. Attention has been put into the features in the hotel.
It is located on a lake which is very pleasant. Walking distance from most attractions. Very friendly, helpful and polite staff. Wish we had one more day to stay.
Nothing really. Great place to stay.
Staf, location, design.
Breakfast.
Excellent service from hotel staff - helped with booking a day trip to Longji Rice Terraces and also the Li River cruise. Hotel staff gave a lot of advice about where to go and see local sights around Guilin. Everyone's English was also excellent. Location was also very central.
Aroma Tea House is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It has a pretty inner court garden and the hallways are decorated with tasteful artwork. The Front Desk staff (Rose, Judy, Ida) speak very good English and were extraordinarily helpful answering questions and organizing transportation to the Longji Terrace Rice Fields and Yangshuo. These three staff members deserve high praise for their patience and dedication to delivering exceptional customer service.I did not realize how difficult it is to get around in Guilin because there is no metro and the bus stops are only in mandarin. Didi (Uber) is not always available making it difficult to plan a day’s excursion.Breakfast was also delightful with a nice variety of dishes. The two breakfast ladies were efficient and always had a smile when they greeted me in the morning.Housekeeping did an excellent job keeping my room clean and restocked with clean towels and water. The entire hotel is neat and clean.
There is nothing negative to say about this charming hotel.
The rooms are spacious, luxurious and comfortable. My room was also fitted with a nice tea room with mountain views! The staff is extremely professional and kind, and ready to help you with any requests you might have, as well as proactively assist you in planning your excursions or activities. The breakfast is also good, with a variety of Chinese and international food and drinks.Conveniently located in the heart of Guilin, within 10-15 mins walk to the Elephant trunk Hill and all other Guilin's major attractions. One of the best hotel stays in my life! I will book again if I get to visit Guilin in the future
Everything exceeded my expectations!
Very friendly and helpful staff. They helped with a variety of requests and volunteered to arrange transfers to the train station. Nice tea offering in the room.
The bed was okay but could have been more comfortable. One of the lamps was not working. Two of the three front desk staff speak English but not al.
Very tastefully done and decorated, everywhere you turned there was a reminder of China and history, and the property used to be a museum. The staff was exceptional, they went out of their way to make me comfortable. I would return in a minute. The breakfast was great
I can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
