Pros +
- Great location right across from bus center and Family Mart and Lawson right nearby. Nice big outward-projecting window giving great views. Spacious room with extra chairs. Good breakfast and coffee.
- Big Japanese style bathroom with soaking bath tub, Convenient location, & roomy room
- I had no choice but to get a smoking room even though my friend and I dont smoke. The staff while we were out eating dinner put professional air cleaners in our room that were quiet and our rooms were clean smelling an not distrubing my sensitive nose. They also helped me cancel our other friend's room who couldnt join us at the last minute. He was grateful for their kindness.
Cons -
- Circulation fan in the room is rather noisy. A bit old and worn. Tiny elevator (but there is a handy interior stairway you can use).
- The heater they control from the front was too hot for us but we couldn't lower the temperature and couldn't turn off completely. We opened the window and used the fan, but it was still hot for hot sleepers. Having chairs & pillows was useful but the pillows always fell through every time we sat.
- There was no facility in the room to warm food (such as a microwave), which was slightly inconvenient for guests who prefer to reheat or prepare their own meals. Adding such a facility would greatly improve the guest experience.

The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a relaxing environment after travel. The staff were very welcoming, helpful, and efficient with check-in and check-out, which made the stay smooth and pleasant. The location was convenient for exploring the area, with easy access to local shops and attractions. Overall, the accommodation offered good value for money.

Great location for Amakusa. Great breakfast. Kind staff. Small of course but this is Japan. A lot of unusual art and art books in the lobby. I also like the Kushikatsu Ichiban about 4 blocks down the street (I doubt they speak any English). I eat there every night I stay in Amakusa. Tell them Thomas sent you.
Location was good, on the main drag in town. Close to shops and other conveniences.
The room is rather old, but the bathroom is renovated but still a bit small
The room is clean and tidy, and the location is quite convenient. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and right next door, there’s a convenience store, a bakery, and a bookstore to explore.
Perfect location for Amakusa. Right in front of the main bus station. The room was big. The breakfast was cooked to order and very nice.
Staff were extremely helpful, very limited English, and communication was mainly by Google translation. The breakfast was good. You pre ordered it the day before from a selection of 8 choices . The room was quite spacious and well lite, and I was able to rent a bike from the hotel for a 1000¥ per day, which helped me get around the local area's off interest.
Like most hotels in Japan, the bathrooms are modules and are, therefore, a bit on the small side
Even though one of our group had to cancel the trip, the people working at the front desk let us adjust the number guests on arrival.
I know there are some floors where it's allowed to smoke in the rooms, but It smelled like cigarettes in the staircase.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. the hotel was recently renovated and offered great value for money. right next to the Amakusa bus terminal was also a great plus point.
there was something wrong with the bathroom ventilation that made it very noisy at times. the walls were pretty thin and you could hear what your neighbors were doing.
With a 7.7 on Booking I was expecting something quite average, but even for a single night stay it exceeded my expectations.Staff found some covered space for my bicycle and gave me great recommendations for local sushi.Right in the middle of town so walking distance to everything you need.Wide choice of breakfast and the chicken teriyaki I had was excellent. Convenience store next door if you need it.Lobby and communal areas were clean, comfortable and welcoming.Room was clean, quiet and comfortable.
There was some plastic sheeting about the hotel, I’m guessing to keep things clean but this didn’t effect my stay.
I stayed at renovated room, it's cozy
My parents stayed at not renovated room, the facilities are bad
very modern, comfortable hotel, nice room and bathroom, good breakfast, personell very helpfull.
Very helping staff!! They kindly helped me figure out solutions when a typhoon was coming.I stayed in two different rooms. Both were comfortable, spacious and well equipped. I particularly liked the second one which had many windows with a nice panoramic view of Amakusa!
I would have enjoyed having breakfast in the hotel’s restaurant but unfortunately there wasn’t many vegetarian/vegan friendly options. Moreover it was japanese meals and I didn’t feel like eating udon in the morning.
Breakfast excellentDesk staff super helpful
Collection of books and magazines for guest reading during his stay.
Nothing in particular
Good
Overall is very nice n good as compared with market price.
