    Pros +

    • Close to all restaurants and the beautiful gardens, not too far from parking facilities, which were very expensive during the day but free from 6pm until the following morning.
    • The breakfast was excellent- fresh fruit, a yogurt pot, cheese and cooked meats as well as croissants, pain chocolat and bread. The restaurant was good and we also enjoyed a lunch on the day we arrived. The starters were excellent, but the main courses were a bit disappointing with the gambas overcooked and woolly with a rather strange combination of roast root vegetables and scented rice. The vegetables didn't work successfully as a flavour with the shellfish, I am afraid. The location near to the Tourist Office and Cathedral was ideal for exploring the town, and parking was fine in the public parking areas.
    • The location of this hotel was good

    Cons -

    • The stairs were very steep although having said that we have been to this hotel previously. We paid 9 euro plus tax each for breakfast but it was very disappointing. Having been told that there would be meats, cheeses and eggs this was not the case.
    • The room faced a pedestrian area which ought to have been a good thing but for the nightclub opposite which was described as "a bit lively". The music was loud and even the thoughtful addition of the earplugs couldn't make it quiet. The bedside light switch on the right of the comfortable bed didn't work, so we had to detach the bulb to switch it off. The lighting in the room was generally low level which made the room look rather dingy, which is a pity because it was well decorated. The design of the bathroom meant that getting into the shower was tricky. Only a gap of 15 cm between the toilet and the bath edge was possible unless you moved the shower screen. There was a smell of drains coming out of the bath. So some plumbing would be an advantage!
    • The hotel has a restaurant open 12:00 to 15:00. This is no good if you want an evening meal. Booking.com needs to be careful when saying a hotel has a restaurant. This is the third time booking.com says there is a restaurant and it is closed. I suggest that booking.com either includes the restaurant dates and hours or decides on a norm say 19:00 to 21:00 that the restaurant has to be open. The stairs to the room were very steep - this hotel is not suitable for anybody who has difficulty with stairs

Convenient location to the city centre, useful for a stroll around the town to get a feel for the place. Free parking a short walk away.

very nearby, very noisy clubs, bars and drinkers out on the street that kept the noise levels hight until 2 am, which meant a very disturbed nights sleep.

Have stayed before. Used as a stop-over. The hotel is in the heart of St. Omer. Friendly owners and staff. There are choices of places to eat and drink very nearby including the hotel itself. The breakfast is excellent.

We arrived a little too early which made the car parking at the closest car park, (a couple of minutes walk away), the maximum charge of 17 euros. If I remember correctly staying in the car park less than 5 hours,( it's free over night from 6pm to 8am), makes it far cheaper.

    Excellent location and breakfast

Lighting in the room not strong enough, stairs very steep.

It was in a very good location and the rooms were sufficient for a short stay

The stairs are steep and the walls are very thin so it was very noisy

    5IanPosted on: 10-30-2024

A good location for Le shuttle connection. Shutters on the windows. We didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. We had hoped to eat at the attached restaurant but it was shut on a Monday.

The steep stair. The room needs updating.

    7HelenPosted on: 10-1-2024

The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was nice.

We were told we could unload outside but could not. The shower cubicle was tiny. The stairs were very steep.

    8RichardPosted on: 10-1-2024

Friendly proprietor and healthy breakfast (not hearty). Generally the room was very well appointed, quiet and comfortable. The key box worked well this time.

There were only two drawbacks. First, my room was at the top of two flights of steep stairs. I knew that. Secondly, I did not realise that the hot water would take more than 10 minutes to come through, sometimes never. This was my third stay. I did not remember the hot water problem being so bad.

    8PaulPosted on: 9-24-2024

Central location and food was excellent

Rooms very basic but would stay again

    7TimothyPosted on: 9-15-2024

Central location and a good breakfast (which was extra). There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room, which was good at a room for this price point.

There was some confusion as to how to get in as the Restaurant was closed on the Friday we arrived. The stairs are narrow and steep. We found them OK but someone with mobility issues may struggle.

    8SuzannePosted on: 8-21-2024

Breakfast was superb. Staff wonderful, welcoming, very friendly and helpful. Excellent meal in the restaurant, great value for money.

Those with mobility issues should be aware that the staircase up to the acconmodation is very steep and narrow. The hotel is in a pedestrian area but the parking facility is very nearby.

    8MelaniePosted on: 8-13-2024

Central location, friendly staff and comfortable room. Great restaurant and breakfast.

Walls were a little thin - guests in next room talked very loudly.

    9EricaPosted on: 8-2-2024

A small hotel right in the centre of the city yet it was very quiet at night.Very nice breakfast and staff very friendly.

Could not get the fan or kettle to work and there was noone about to ask, so room was hot.

It’s in a great location, the bedroom was light and airy and a good size. It could do with a unit to put clothes into - ie a chest of drawers but otherwise excellent.

Having to pick up the key from a box outside felt a bit impersonal but everything else was fine.I would have liked to have had more cold meats for breakfast but the homemade bread was excellent.

    8MalcolmPosted on: 7-5-2024

Breakfast was good. Stairs are a little steep but we coped although wife needed help.

Noisy outside at weekend but hotel supplied ear plugs.

    9KevinPosted on: 6-17-2024

Great location, really friendly owners and an amazing breakfast. Bed was very comfy as well.

WiFi wasn’t very strong in our room and kept cutting out.

    7DavidPosted on: 6-10-2024

Central location but on a pedestrianized street. However, you can drive car to the door but park elsewhere. Short walk to a free car park. Excellent restaurant in hotel. Very steep stairs to room but owner offered to carry bag. Our room window had view of a roof. Very clean bathroom. Room OK.

Room was as expected for price in small hotel.
