Pros +

  • Location and history
  • The location is beautiful and the service was excellent. Food was also very good and menus were interesting and different.
  • You cannot beat the scenery! The emerald lake and mountains were amazing. I loved having a fireplace in the room - so cozy!

Cons -

  • Brunch warm items like scrambled eggs could have been warmer. Maybe by smaller portions being prepared
  • One suggestion: if staff knows there will be an aurora borealis sighting, they let everyone staying there know so people are not disappointed to miss it. Put up a sign in the lobby! Or servers tell their clients.
  • Most of the staff weren¿t attentive to their guests, extremely slow service. A lot of things seemed to be broken or unfinished - they didn¿t have any lights on the stairs down to the lodges and the steps were slippery and not level. Huge safety hazard.

The location is so beautiful, and the room was fantastic.
The staff weren't friendly. This includes the front desk staff and the shuttle drivers. Being friendly is pretty much the minimum you expect from a nice hotel, so that was disappointing.
