Clonmel Castle

Really beautiful getaway a short drive from the lovely little beach town of Port Dover. Lynneee the owner was an excellent host and the breakfast every day was fantastic. It was a really quiet place, only a few rooms which we loved as we were seeking a retreat from busy lives for a few days.

We had a separate bathroom to our room which was a little out of my comfort zone but it was a lovely big bathroom with everything and was just for us. Only sharing this so you can check in advance which room you choose.

The castle was so unique and the owner, Lynnee was very welcoming and made us feel like family and the rest of the staff were wonderful as well. The chef made us a lovely breakfast buffet with the best pancakes I’ve ever had.

The location is quite a piece away from the main beach, stores and restaurants so you do have to drive as there are no Ubers or taxis in the area.

Great property, kind hosts, good food and convenient location. We had a very pleasant stay.

Best breakfast we have had in a long time in a B&B. I have travelled all over Europe and I have rate my experienced this quality breakfast.

Everything was great. Lynnie was exceptionally attentive and all détails were looked after. We had a very enjoyable time.

Breakfast was excellent! We also were offered a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board on our arrival which was greatly appreciated along with a room upgrade. Lynee was a wonderful host.

Lynnee, Pauline, and Craig were all amazing with a wonderful breakfast in the mornings! The King room and bed were super comfortable and the house is stunning!!! We didn't have supper there so can't comment on that. It's very close to Port Dover and the fabulous 211 Main (restaurant) there so it was a great location for us with exploring southwestern Ontario and the various sights and wineries not too far away.

Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very kind .Would love to go back.

Maybe more lighting around the property a bit dark in some parts .

We loved the expansive property, the elegance of the large interior. It had a Royal feel to it. The grounds were very large and beautifully maintained. Our room had numerous details for our comfort and convenience, fridge, coffee machine, beautiful china, welcome bottle ofwime, a tasty cheese tray, grapes, variety of crackers, nuts and pastry. A trayfulmof snacks, teas, creamcheese, honey creams, butter, bottles of filtered water and orange juice. Excellent beds, we had 2 room suit and plenty of towels. The host was amazing as she dug through a compost garbage bag to find my plastic dental retainer and we found it. Service above and beyond anything I could imagine! Thank you Lennie I am grateful for your kindness. Excellent breakfast, delicious eggs Benedict, pea-meal bacon and fresh strawberries, yogurt, sausages, pancakes, home fried potatoes, and great coffee. Super friendly staff, in every way we highly recommend anyone to stay at Clonmel Castle ?

beautifully old fashioned and traditional

when we arrived no one was there to greet us. All the lights were off and we were walking around trying to figure out what to do. I had to call to find someone.

A good breakfast, charcuterie and two bottles of wine as we arrived. Lyynneee, the owner, was a pleasure.

I prefer a firmer bed.

My fiance and I had been on the road in our camper for a couple of weeks, we decided we wanted to book a couple of nights to treat ourselves. We were not disappointed and ended up extending our stay. The breakfast and options included for snacking were amazing! We were so comfortable and would love to stay again!!

The breakfast was exceptional. We are vegetarians. The on-site chef/owner prepares meals for all dietary needs. The food was delicious, and the presentation was exceptional. Lenee, the owner/chef, delivered the breakfasts for our room.

There was not one thing that I didn't like.

The house is wonderful as are the owners. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel right at home.Beautiful historic and tasteful boutique accommodation. The breakfast was amazing as was the welcome food on arrival (no extra charge). We also had one evening meal (extra of course) which was delicious. A lovely walk through the grounds and local park to Port Dover. Would recommend without hesitation.

It was kept very clean. Many things reminded you of a castle. Rooms had many windows with lots of light. Hosts were amazing! Food was really tasty and fulfilled our demands of whatever we wanted to eat and it was prepared for us.

I loved the warmth & attention to detail from start to finish. It just felt like arriving home after a long day! The suite was exceptionally comfortable in every way. I loved the fact that they are eco-conscience in their approach to toiletries. The refrigerator was stocked with goodies & freshly prepared quiche. A beautiful bottle of complimentary wine was the finishing touch to an already perfect stay! I only wish I had a longer stay to spend time in the beautiful library curled up reading!!

Lovely gardens and landscaping, nice patio area and other outdoor seating areas. Beautiful original decor throughout .

No vanity or shelf to place your personal items in the bathroom. The holder for the soap dispenser is unstable so it falls off every time you try to use it.Very disappointed with the breakfast .. we had read reviews about a great chef, fabulous egg Benedict etc,,what was offered pastries from Costco left out in the dining room or make your own in your room …Frozen cheese omelettes…frozen bread and pastries.There was also some carrot cake, banana bread and popcorn which was good.
