The restaurant opens late. the vibe is very cozy. they have displays of cultural toys and collectibles which were very cool. onsens were super nice.

it seems like they didn’t have ac, lucky the weather was cold.

Lovely dinner, big baths, and close to the lake! Dedicated staff who went above and beyond when we left an item behind

Location good. Room good. Unfortunately there were no cafes or restaurants open in the evening in lake towada which we were unaware of when booking. We asked if we could use the dining at the hotel but as we had not done so with the booking it was not available. The outdoor onsen had no water.

Lots of space and lovely room. Very clean.

Food was questionable and very outdated interior

Location is the only plus. Language is a big issue, the staff had the gut to ask me to speak Japanese with him. The men were so rule in that hotel.

The staff’s attitude was not nice.

Close to the lake and the winter festival. The hotel was warm, clean, and very comfortable. The onsen was very good too.

8GregPosted on: 2-20-2025

was very quiet. Think the location is more for summer activities. We were there for the winter festival so good location for that.

The breakfast was okay. The onsen was a little bit tired.

Spacious, souvenir store, onsen, available food.

Hotel is old n needs upgrading. Futon was hard.

9NathanPosted on: 12-31-2024

Some may find the location difficult to get to, especially during winter, but it’s worth the trek if you’re looking to be surrounded by nature with friendly staff, delicious dinners and a wonderful onsen.

I would love to see a few more options for breakfast. We stayed for three nights and the breakfast menu was always the same.

8SimPosted on: 12-30-2024

Big onsen. Souvenir shop.

Food was ok, can be better. Room is jaded, can do with upgrade.

7JuliePosted on: 11-17-2024

Accessible, conveniently located.

Huge complex. A lot of tourist who speaks very loudly, along the corridor and at the onsen.

Old hotel and poor staff service

The hotel was rather old. Too many guests caused loud noises. I especially disappointed by the staff as they behaved cold. The staff working in the entrance did not allow me to drop my luggage for checking in. He insisted me to park the car first.

9KristenPosted on: 11-9-2024

Beautiful setting, very clean, cozy room with a great view, and the onsen is excellent!

I wish there was coffee in the rooms!

10KahPosted on: 11-2-2024

The food was good and sumptuous for the dinner and breakfast room.

Location was not near the lake or Oirase stream

The hotel offers onsens and good bathing facilities and products within the onsen showers and change rooms. It's a small town this hotel is located in, but I felt this hotel added to the experience. I'm not sure why a lot of people comment that it's run down, I think aside from the carpet, everything is looking pretty good, and the rooms were fine. There might be a few things here and there, but for the most part, nothing was impacted. I also noticed a few people comment that there isn't a lot of English speaking staff, which, while true, it doesn't make for a problem. It's a small rural town. Learn a few Japanese words or use google translate on your phone if you can. I had no issues at all.

Nothing really and may be just the location is a plus.

The hotel is old and dirty. Not quite same standard that I experience thus far with many hotels in Japan. The food is not good, and we even left without taking the breakfast that we paid in advance. Really bad value for money.

Tatami room!

Breakfast was boring. I would expect more freash local Japanese style food.
