Located on Highway 105, along the shores of Bras d’Or Lake, this motel has a private beach and is one km west of the entrance to the Cabot Trail. Free Wi-Fi and cable TV is available in all rooms at the Trailsman Motel. The rooms have a seating area and are equipped with a refrigerator and a coffee maker. Guests can relax in the outdoor pool at the Trailsman Motel. There is a business center on site, as well as meeting and banquet facilities. The village of Baddeck is 10 minutes' drive from the motel. Pros +
- The room was large with a king sized bed and a lake view. There was a nice sized desk and the heating system worked well. It was open during the off season, which a lot of places on Cape Breton are not.
- The deck off our room and the well groomed landscape was lovely. We appreciated the room being cleaned and the bed made everyday. Breakfast was great. Staff were friendly and kind. Overall our stay was very pleasant.
- Staff is simply great! They were clearly on a very busy night, and still incredibly efficient and kind. We booked a room with wrong bed set up, they still tried their best to accommodate our party. Great breakfast included with warm options.
Cons -
- Just the road noise which I know you don?t control
- The breakfast was bad. The coffee was undrinkable, the eggs tasted like styrofoam, the portions were sparse (it was breakfast to order) and the staff decided to vacuum the dining room during breakfast. There were some stray hairs in the bathroom.
- Cleaners could be a little more attentive to detail, nothing bad at all, but we could see cleaners were in a rush.
