Cast Away - Eco Resort

This property is amazing! The location is dreamy. The beaches are basically your own private oasis. The resort is picturesque and the owner and other staff are so friendly and accommodating. We loved our stay here and wished we could stay longer. I am dreaming of my next visit. We almost didn’t want to explore the rest of the island because we didn’t want to miss out on experiencing this beautiful resort.

Honestly I loved everything. I'm from Brazil so beautiful beaches are no news to me but Cast Away is just spectacular! I don't think a view can get any prettier. I also loved the contact with the nature and the two dogs that were there, playing with them made our stay even better. The common areas were remarkably clean and we found everything we needed. Didier, the host, is another highlight - since the reservation, he's been nothing but kind and informative. I would love to return to this place!

The staff was the best part of the property. They were all exceptionally welcoming and friendly. As a solo traveller I immediately felt comfortable here and at peace. All of your needs are met quickly and the property is beautiful. One of the highlights of my travels so far. The story behind its creation makes the stay even more meaningful. The host was very accommodating of my travel needs and was very responsive to my questions in advance of my stay. Highly recommend staying here if you want to get away and relax.

A real get away with a really knowledgeable guide for anything you want to see and experience around Hvar. Beds are comfy and the tents are simple but nice and cosy

Castaway is true to its ethos and charming in its simplicity. The staff members are all lovely and run a relaxed, but efficient enough operation. The tents are small, but comfortable, and nothing beats listening to the calming sounds of the sea during the night. The beach is very close by and it is possible to rent kayaks and SUPs to add to the fun!

Consider putting up another outside shower just to be able to rinse off when you come back from the beach.

Nothing big at all, still in part in development (meaning that in a positive way), some details could be improved (but again totally open for suggestions ?), maybe add some more signs to find it easier in the end ?

I adored the romance of the place. Come out at the night and you will be treated with stunning stary night sky. Generally this place attracts respectful flexible people so you get to be at peace no matter your background as long as you are cool. I met very varied bunch of people but at the same time, I could connect with them over existential life topics. It's an excellent place to go to when you need a real brake and people that accept you no matter what.Sea shoes and glasses are provided free of charge.

Mosquitos ate me so bad I am itching few days later still. Bring your own prefferred anti insect product. If you borrow, they may be unique to other people preferences. Beer is not on tap but they compensate with Belgium beer also being available.

Beautiful location, amazing views, so peaceful and great chill out vibe. Very unique retreat far from the crowds of the main parts of CroatiaAnd the hammocks were fantastic for napping in!

The place is spotless and tidy, a true reflection of the thought and care invested in every aspect.We loved learning about the touching story of how Cast Away came to be. The passion and dedication that went into creating this oasis are truly heartwarming. There is a nice a spacious kitchen, outfitted with all the culinary tools you might need, and a dishwasher. The sleeping mattress was comfy and the views are amazing. The crystalline sea and immaculate beaches exceeded all expectations. Our heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Cast Away for providing us with a truly unforgettable retreat. We are already looking forward to our return, as the beauty and tranquility of this place have captured our hearts.

We loved everything! The only consideration is the presence of mosquitoes, prompting us to advise fellow travelers to pack effective repellent.

Beach hut is very small and does not get much airflow, so it was quite hot inside for sleeping.

Amazing views of the crystal clear sea. A unique experience far from the noise of the city with everythih you need and more. Hope to come back soon.

The hostel is full of kind and interesting people, my friend and I felt very safe and relaxed :) I would leave my phone in the kitchen for hours and hours at a time and it would always be exactly where I put it :) The staff are so kind and welcoming !

The staff team is just amazing! They are all super kind and try to make you feel comfortable. You have to be aware that this place is really remote and it is hard to explore the island if you do not have a car but if you like that, it is a perfect place to stay. At the moment they offer one daily shuttle to the supermarket and the ferry harbour. I would recommend to stay at least three nights. The matresses are comfortable and you get bed sheets and blankets so you do not need to bring your sleeping bag. The kitchen is equipped wih fridges and freezers, there is enough place as every hut has its own space in the fridge. You can charge your phone 24/7. There are no hot showers but normally you do not need it anyway because it can get really hot. We will try to come back and are already looking forward to another hike with Nina (dog of the neighbour). Thanks for everything!!!

A toaster in the kitchen woudl be nice.

Loved the location so out of the way. Going through the tunnel on the way there was exciting. The 2 beaches are so beautiful and peaceful. Loved reading the story behind the resort.

Location is great. Tents are well equipped with pillows and blankets. Good sleeping.Kitchen is clean.Can't wait to come again in the midst of summer.

The only thing that is missing is an outdoor shower. And the middle road from the tent Diki to the table with dishes needs a bit more lighting - during night its difficult to find toilets.

This was the favorite place on our backpacking trip in Croatia! The place is in the middle of nowhere and has its own private beach. The staff is wonderful, they make you feel at home instantly. Also the other guests were very nice, many typically extend their stay, we would have done the same, if we hadn't booked the rest of our trip in advance already. I would always come back. Thank you again Didier and staff!!!

My husband and I spent 3 nights there and were amazed by the exclusive pebble beaches, kayak hire for excursions and the environment that forces you to relax. You cannot help but love the location. If you're already looking at the reviews for this place, I'm sure you are not looking for a 5 star luxury hotel. What this place can offer is views to die for and provide a detox to many fast-paced lifestyles. But the real gem are the people.You will meet lovely like-minded people but the staff are some of the most welcoming and down to earth people you will ever meet. Santa, Toni, Jonah, Beth, Tom, Paul (currently working on more constructions for the site) and the owner Didier were an absolute pleasure to talk to and would hang around on days off just soaking in the atmosphere with all the other campers.This place creates a sense of community, even if you are there for one night. I would say that you can easily be by yourself and just enjoy your own company, on one of the many secluded beaches, but it is hard not to get involved.We would love to come back as I think we have found our new spot to get away and to truly slow down and appreciate the little things in life.Thank you so so for your hospitality,Saul and Kasia xxx
