- Great atmosphere and beautiful location. The room was comfortable. Dinner was lovely!
- Great location for bushwalks
- The High Plains was a great location. It met our needs in a beautiful quiet location. The food was good.
Cons -
- No toilet paper in bathroom. No iron and board in the room. Rooms are very dark, more lighting would be great.
- When we walked into the foyer about 15 - 20 blue dirty laundry bags greeted us. When we walked into the reception/bar area to book in we were told they weren't open until 5pm but our booking told us 3pm. Walking down to our room was quite the experience with all the facilities rooms wide open. The smells eminating from the kitchen/laundry and store room were disguisting. We had quite an interesting view of the back workings of a hotel. In particular the laundry room where a blow up sex toy (looking worse for wear) was propped up in the back corner. Not sure how I would have explained that to my kids!! Anyway...the room was large and spacious, with clean sheets but the bathroom had open shampoo/conditioner bottles from the previous occupants on top of the shower and there was mould around the shower recess door.On our booking email from the hotel it advised us places to eat during the off season was limited but they had a communal kitchen available for use. After smelling/seeing the state of the commercial kitchen we decided we would cook our own food. Visiting the communal kitchen was another interesting experience! Dirty frying pans, plates, cutlery and half drunk coffee/beers everywhere. Even a set of crutches leaning against the stove area welcomed us. We eventually opted for driving to Mt Hotham for dinner instead! When trying to locate where to leave our key the next morning we ventured back into the reception/restraunt area. Not only did our shoes practically stick to the floor! there was left over food such at deep fried chips and a half eaten hamburger left out on the kitchen servery. Disgusting!I'm sure the health authorities would have a field day in this place!
- Two small points.1. The TV didn't function correctly, not a major issue as we didn't really need it. 2. The bins weren't empty in the room. The previous guests roast chicken was left for us to enjoy. Again a small point as we weren't in the room much, but we would still expect a completely clean room.

Friendly Manager / Owner very welcoming! Great Ski resort vibe. Good location.
Really everything about our stay was great. The hotel was perfect price wise and the room as sufficient and the breakfast was amazing. Fantastic value for money

Staff were super friendly and helpful! The location was beautiful, such a cute town. Great bar downstairs in the hotel, reasonable priced drinks and a pool table. Kitchen for shared use was very convenient and clean. Shower was great - good water pressure.
Friendly staff. Nice location. Good food at the restaurant.
convenient accomodation with bistro
wifi was not that good inside the room if you really need it. We didn‘t really need it though so it was not too bad.
Size of room
No heating No minibarNo food or view as advertised Tiny bathroom Room was dusty with dead bugs
The rooms were spacious with a very nice outlook onto snow gum trees. Very quiet. The hotel manager was exceptional. The meal we had was delicious
Good locationComfortable bedsGreat communication over phone organising/adjusting booking
Very loud music outside room - had to ask staff for band to moveVery long wait time for food at restaraunt - no acknowledgement or apology from staffNo backup toilet paper roll in room
Has a kitchenette to cook meals in. Cozy pub underneath and evening meals available.
Does echo and is quite noisy at night. The bed was soooo hard my hips and shoulders ached all day after sleeping in it.
Location
Rubbish outside hotel, TV not working, kettle not working, not dusted I a long time, facilities not maintained. Not worth $205 a night
Hotel could do with a bit of a renovation but otherwise a clean and comfortable stay with a good room size. Good food, most staff friendly and certainly efficient. Main bar/dining area had a great rustic atmosphere. Extra dining area could do with a bit more to make it warm and welcoming.
Parking is a serious problem. Guests at the hotel compete with casual visitors for parking, and the nearest we could find was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Dinner Plain township could do with reviewing its parking restrictions to improve access during busy periods, and consider increasing parking near hotel accommodation for guests staying there (there is considerable land available near the hotel but it was marked as No Parking).
The rooms were great, sheets clean and well appointed. Great location.
Shared kitchen was dirty. Hard to find staff to help. No fan in bathroom.
It's location was handy to some great bush walking. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun. The room was comfy warm and clean. IGreat local beer on tap post longt bushwalk was awesome !
Foyer needs a freshen up
The Location
Wasnt really clean, seems a bit worn out, possibly low on staff also
Its location
Lots of squeaky parts in the rooms (beds) and flooring You can hear people walking past the room
The sheets were clean and the staff were friendly.
The floors were filthy and the bathroom floor edges looked as though they had never been cleaned. The room supplies had not been restocked. We asked for coffee and milk, but later found we only had one soap and shampoo for the two of us and no tea towel (used a face washer). The cups were dirty (we had to wash them)and there were no tea spoons. The music speakers from the beer garden blared from a few feet away directly into our window.
Great staff, tasty food. Was a surprisingly cold day in Summer just 3C but they put on the central heating and lit the log fires in the bar.
Seen better days which is acceptable but it was dirty especially our bathroom.
