Fantastic location with an undisturbed sea view and direct access to beach. Modern facilities, nice and spacious rooms. Great fitness, spa, and outdoor pool area. Individual staff members made my stay truly special (shout-out to the spa colleague from Tegernsee who came up with a creative solution to allow me to train with my baby, and the sweet young receptionist who drove us to hospital). Selection and quality of breakfast is superb, as is the restaurant menu. Overall very clean (with exception of the baby cot, which was pretty sandy). Nice touch with book lounge and many other quiet reading areas. Very baby-friendly, even in restaurant. Fair prices at bar/restaurant.
Professionalism of / attention by staff was somewhat erratic. While some went completely out of their way (see above), others would not manage the simplest tasks. Especially service at the bar was not adequate to the overall standard of the hotel (guests being ignored, having to wait forever, ask again, getting wrong/incomplete orders), mostly due to apparently unlearnt staff. At peak time, long waiting for tables and refills at breakfast. The supervisors would typically make up for mistakes if and when they noticed, but it's not the same as getting it right from the beginning. Terrace could sometimes not be enjoyed due to many smokers, would be fantastic with a non-smoking area! Rooms are not sound-proof, hence if noise-sensitive recommendable to book a room on the upper floors.
