    Pros +

    • Breakfast was wonderful - both Japanese and Western menu. I enjoyed the Sake flights each evening. The Yukata was very comfortable, best one I had on the trip. Room and bathroom were great as were the amenities provided. The staff were fantastic - very helpful and knowledgable.
    • Great location. Very modern and clean. Close to the park, castle and fish market.
    • An ideal location within walking distance from everything but set back from Main Street. Nearby area had beautiful quiet shrines and a lovely approach to castle gardens. Rooms nicely designed and immaculately clean. Good (not impossibly hard) beds and bedding. Like many Japanese hotels rooms are long and narrow with only limited light unless you get a suite. We had a room with a small covered balcony which was nice to have and eat outside. Very happy with this hotel and great value.

    Cons -

    • A little tricky to find the actual entrance and there’s not really a place to pull off and unload your bags.
    • Relatively limited amenities in room for a Japanese hotel (tea, coffee, bath products etc). A very minor thing!
    • Nothing!

Our honeymoon stay at UAN Kanazawa was amazing! The staff here are really nice and helpful, as they helped us with navigating the city. Furthermore, their breakfast is quite special, and we could choose between Western and Japanese style.

    10RACHELPosted on: 1-15-2026

Loved the room; it felt larger than most hotel rooms in Japan. Wonderful staff. They provided us with drinking water everyday and cleaned our room as requested. Great location! We could walk to restaurants and attractions right from the hotel.

Room was very spacious and quiet. Loved the soaking tub and wearing the provided yukata robes to the lounge area. The Japanese breakfast was phenomenal. They offer soba noodles as an evening snack before bed. We also did a sake tasting in the lounge area. Staff was helpful in forwarding luggage and calling us a taxi. Free bike rental which was a great way to zip around the city and give our feet a rest. Did laundry in the facilities on the final day and clothes came out nice and dry.

    Nothing!

Super nice staff, so clean and fresh and a great location. Loved the design as well!

The mattress was a little hard for me.

    9RichardPosted on: 12-20-2025

The staff was extremely helpful; the breakfast was excellent, both Japanese and Western, and ample; the location was also great with easy walking access to the center of town as well as the gardens and other attractions; the rooms were clean and well designed. We liked it very much

My room was beautiful and comfortable, the balcony was lovely and had a bit of a park view, and the bath was great. The lobby tea was great and the chairs there were well designed.

A hotel onsen would be nice, but that is not always possible.

    9JoshuaPosted on: 12-12-2025

Beautiful modern hotel, lots of amenities available. The rooms were also well designed and modern while retaining traditional design aspects. Close to everything, but down a short quiet street, just out of the hustle and bustle.

    Nothing :) I

Very clean contemporary comfortable hotel. Japanese style deep bath tub with jacuzzi is very relaxing.

The location was great for walking and seeing the attractions like Kenrokuen, Nagamachi and Omichi market. Modern Japanese decor was very nice.

    Room was dark

Great location. Comfortable. Enjoyed the late night udon.

Checking out experience. We were told check out was noon so that is what we planned. They basically kicked us out and threatened to charge us for being a few minutes late even though we were on time from what they told us. They also took out our laundry from the communal washer and put it wet in a bag so someone else could use the washer/dryer. No regard for it. It not being dry!

Comfortable, warm hotel that looks exactly as pictured. Helpful staff. New building.

There was a noticeable BO smell in some of the rooms. Reception said it was humidity but not quite sure that was it. Regardless, the manager very patiently showed us other rooms for our stay which we switched to and had a great stay.

    Clean

Cramped roomVery little storageAutomatic light that turns on next to exit door which wakes up partner when you get up in the morning. Denied breakfast reservation for next day even though we put request in before 10 am. Definitely would not return.

    10LynnPosted on: 11-13-2025

Great location and lovely staff. The common area was cosy and set up for socializing. Loved having access to a washer/dryer. (FYI- the washer automatically dispenses detergent. No need to buy your own.) The halls and common areas were spotless. The room was also clean. The room was a little dark, but there is a glass door at the far end that opened to a little balcony. The beds were great and the yukatas supplied by the hotel were beautiful. A nice feature was a 2nd sink at the back corner of the room. I hate sinks being the focal point of a room I’m sleeping in, but this one is discreet. I wouldn’t hesitate staying at the UAN Kanazawa if I’m ever fortunate enough to return to that delightful city.

Our room had scuff marks on the wall, which were a distraction from all the good features of the room.

    10VanessaPosted on: 11-8-2025

Spacious, clean rooms, with comfortable beds.

    9PolinaPosted on: 11-5-2025

The location is great. It's near the castle and market. The facilities are spotless and comfortable. Staff is very accommodating and helpful.

We picked a Japanese breakfast. Its nit bad, but the same every day. Western breakfast did not look appetizing to me. Price point is quite high.

    9JeffreyPosted on: 10-27-2025

The location near the castle park. The comfortable beds.

The fully automatic toilets. Eliminate the motion detection toilet set opener and the auto flush action. These automatic functions are annoying at night and the auto timer makes unwanted noise. Guest are capable of flushing a toilet with auto assistance.

    10DenizPosted on: 10-22-2025

Everything — we loved it so much. It’s a wonderful place to experience true Japanese hospitality. The design is incredible, and the space arrangements are brilliant. As an architect, I was deeply impressed by the interiors and the beautiful furniture. I honestly feel lucky to have seen such an outstanding example of design in my life.”

None. Nada. Rien. Nichts. 何も. Absolutely nothing — everything was perfect.
