- A paradise weve been visiting for years. Already looking forward to the next time! Amazing vibe and a warm, family-like atmosphere. Fantastic house band!
- Good food, but we expected a resort, not a restaurant.
Cons -
- We booked Indie Beach twice (7 nights total, across two separate reservations) because the photos and descriptions suggested a peaceful, stylish retreat. Sadly, the reality was a big disappointmentstarting with our first 4-night stay. We were first placed in the Bigmoon Suite, right on the edge of the property facing a noisy road. With traffic outside and a rattling A/C unit inside, it was impossible to restespecially with two small children. The bungalow felt nothing like the images online. It was old, dark, and poorly maintained, with cracked walls, a smelly bathroom, and a run-down shower. For over 90 per night, we expected much more. We were moved to the Big Tree Suite, which was quieter but not better maintained. The same issues persisted: poor cleaning, visible wear, and a general sense of neglect. (See our second review for details on the rest of our stay.) We had high hopes for a (6 month in advance booked) relaxing family trip but felt misled and stressed. The resort didnt meet even basic hospitality standards. During our stay, we also noticed unpleasant smells coming from the beach and water (also detailed on the second review), which impacted our experience and raised concerns for us. Fortunately, once again, Booking.com took our claims seriously and issued compensation. The resort, however, never responded to us directlychoosing instead to reply only to public reviews, as seen in several others here. It really makes you question the spirit in which guests are welcomed. What a shame. If you're booking based on the photos and glowing descriptions, manage your expectations. There are better options in Koh Chang.
