Lavender House York

Location was perfect - very near to everything I needed but in a quite area. The room was in a lovely old house with a blend of elegant historic features and luxurious modern conveniences.

A very generous sized room in old character home. Well maintained. Within the town but very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Lavender House is a fantastic place to stay so comfortable and in a perfect part of York in the main street but not to close to the centre of town to be to noisy. It's the perfect place to stay on your next visit to York the rooms are fabulous and the grounds are beautiful

Excellent location on main street in York .Very clean, nice bathroom ,good fully working facilities, ( air con, wi fi,hot water / dual shower ) charming with lovely verandah to sit on ( room2) overlooking the garden . Very comfortable bed . Prompt communication by hosts and very accommodating hosts letting us keep car parked until lunch time whilst we went round motor museum before leaving . Would recommend .

Location was great. We had problems accessing the property and contacting booking.com and the owner. The external areas were not impressive. Tables and chairs were filthy, covered in dust. After more than two hours waiting to access the room, we managed to talk to the owner, Cherie. She was apologetic and said booking.com had not notified her of our reservation. Anyway, all was sorted and the inside of the place was very different from outside. Good sized room with comfortable bed, sofa, table & chairs, a wardrobe, small kitchen, air con and a large wet room.

Contact was unimpressive. Externally the property looked neglected and dirty.

Location, cool, clean haven on a very hot day. The bed although not big was so comfortable. The bathroom was amazing, double showers, wonderful towels, linen etc.

The rooms were a good size, beds were really comfortable, showers were super, no complaints whatsoever

Tea and coffee bags, sugar and milk was provided. York is a very small town so distance to places is negligible but the location was good as it was away from the busy part.

It was rustic but was disappointed that the verandah was not swept, the table outside our room was full of dust so we had to clean it before we sat. The trees were full of cobwebs. Microwave would have been a good addition.

Great location. Great room. Fabulous bathroom. And sitting on the front verandah with a bottle of red wine and a charcuterie plate and watching the world go by was better than good.

Great location. Lovely and clean room with large bathroom and little extras such as tea etc. we didn’t actually meet the owner but she was very pleasant over the phone. Access was via a key placed in a key pad access box.

lovely quant homestead fitted out so beautifully. loved the twin rain showers, special touches, coffee bags, chocolates etc the garden was so nice to sit in chill out , have afternoon drinks and nibbles.

Liked open check in. The garden was lovely. The room had high ceilings and was nicely appointed.

We were in Room 4 and it was self check in. It was very spacious, clean and well located. All of the usual things you would find I'm a Hotel/Motel room but just that little bit better standard, example, room had an 80cm TV mounted on the wall. Right next to a breakfast cafe and minutes from everything York has to offer I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
