Pros +
- The waiters and waitresses were amazing. Food was tasty too. Big beds. Cleanliness.
- The property is located right next to the beach and access was good. The rooms were clean and comfortable with clean linen
- The place .location. staffs. All the way excellent Very concerned and helpful manager and the receptionist.
Cons -
- What a safety hazard! Electricity kept blowing up things!Slept in darkness for a night! the receptionist kept giving confusing information, quite unprofessional and lacking customer care skills. A scam when it comes to food. Don’t fall for the full board thing, it’s a scam, you will get super small portions esp for the proteins and fries! Despite the food being tasty. Basically, NOT value for money!
- 1. There was a power issue when we arrived to join our family friends so we checked in to pretty hot rooms 2. The pool had also just been treated so we couldn’t swim to cool off although we were given an alternative which was not ideal 3. The food portions are extremely small (even the children did not get full) making us have to order ala carte and pay extra despite having been booked and paid for a full board 4. The staff were not friendly either and are poorly trained to handle issues making decision making quite lengthy and acrimonious 5. Despite having a menu, we were only given two options from which we could order and the portions were still quite small
- No any complaints

I had a truly amazing experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and incredibly attentive. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a great variety of options. One of the highlights of my trip was the special excursion to Shale Island – it was breathtaking and perfectly organized by the hotel. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for luxury, comfort, and exceptional service.
The property is new and clean and has amazing views, I recommended upgrading to the beach front rooms
The downfall of this property is that it’s far from some of the things we wanted to do such as jet skis. But this will not deter me from retuning next year ?
Friendly staff
All the glitches. Two out of six rooms held by our group did not have a working air con the first night. Three rooms had leaking basins, Food options were few and service in the restaurant appeared chaotic. Drinks were very expensive. They ran out of coffee during breakfast day one and the same happened for certain soda and beer types during our last days
Breakfast was very good, location was good.
Beach is good
Clean and comfy hotel in city centre. We had a wonderful stay in charming Yu resort. Very clean & lots of space. Wonderful breakfast with a choice for every diet. very kind staff especially *Beka* the waitre filled our hearts. Beka was so attentive to our needs, always checking on us to see if we needed anything, your smile was so welcoming, "you had agreat personality." Thank you for making us feel at home. We would definitely stay there again.
No water heater in the rooms, few games & children's weren't thought about at all, ( no swimming pool for them, no games for them). And swimming pool has stares which kept on bringing cuts on my body. After paying for full board again drinks were paid for differently and very expensive it really hit me down coz you didn't explain it on ur website. The hotel has a shuttle however you don't use it to pick up guests but for personal use then you end up sending us wired taxi drivers very expensive for a short distance...that was mean & no value for money at all.
Interesting location, kind of unknown, it has just a view hotels aroundNewGood looking, instagrammableBeautiful beach during ebb-tideDog Friendly
- Rooms are not well designed- The fridge was placed right at my head near the bed. I heard its humming very well.- We had a plumbing issue - the water was leaking to the room, the manager said they didn't know about the problem (lie), they fixed it on the spot but it took a long time and they just sealed a hole with silicate glue, the smell was horrible in the room.- The food is just horrible, can't eat anything there. Our order for eggs didn't arrived. Also it looked like there wasn't enough food. But the cost - wow, where did all that money go?- They don't have a generator, we were out of power for the whole day at New Year Eve! They switched it on after 9pm.- AC in the room switches on and off all the time.- We saw the cleaner that washed around swimming pool was using liquid soap to wash inside of the swimming pool. I won't trust its waters.- The beach is mostly inaccessible because of harassing locals. There are some aggressive wild dogs nearby. Be careful especially in case you arrive with a dog.- In between rooms you have a door leading to a stranger's room with a window on very top of it. You can see the lights and shadows on the ceiling.
The place is perfect, with the potential to be a world-class tourist destination. It is new. Everything is still fresh.
Staff is also new and therefore need training here and there. They are very lovely, though.
Beautiful and spacious modern rooms. Very clean and excellent air conditioning. We wanted a quiet place and this was quiet. Staff really wanted to make sure we had a great time. I would return.
Breakfast could have been a bit more simple. There were a lot of savory items. Msambweni is not a tourist town (yet), so bring what you need but it’s easy to get to Diani by Uber or taxi (or motorcycle if you’re daring).
Initially the food was good....and they have friendly staff.
There is no synchronised service1. Meal portions became small dint have enough serving during N.Y.E. dinner2. The resort did have electricity issues and there was a day where there was no power for 8 hours3. The staff aren't well coordinated....there were no waiters at the pool near the beach despite requesting this several times4. They play good music upstairs but then again there are no waiters to serve drinks
The facility is quite private, the staff ,10/10, absolutely gems and always trying to make sure your stay is comfortable. The room was exceptionally clean!. YU is an absolute gem if you are trying to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
Tucked away in Msambweni is this gem of a hotel. We had wonderful family stay over 2 nights. The staff were all very kind and accommodating who felt like family by the end of the stay.Big thank you to the kitchen staff who surprised my daughter with a cake on her 3rd birthday. She was over the moon!Big thanks to Mercy at reception who was very accommodating and allowed us to stay a few more hours for the kids to swim a little more. The beach is on the doorstep and really clean and quiet.Clean rooms, clean and quiet pools, great food and fast WiFi what is there not to like!Would highly recommend a stay whilst the hotel is still quite new and value for money!
Eggs more readily available for breakfast More activities like table tennis etc would be nice
Breakfast was fantastic and delicious the staffs were super friendly and helpful the environment was just marvelous very clean rooms and surroundings.
there were no greens in both lunch and dinner and also had limited food varieties. they are also slow in time we especially missed the bonfire which was supposed to start at 10:00pm and we had to leave at 11:30pm as it was still being set up
The entire service team consistently went above and beyond to make our family Christmas experience truly unforgettable. We would love to visit again! A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Duncan and your team for giving us the best Christmas celebration. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the variety of activities planned during our stay, keeping them entertained throughout. The food was exceptional, from breakfast to dinner, with a menu thoughtfully catering to the kids, which was a huge help.Lastly, the view was absolutely breathtaking. We cherished the beach and the stunning sunsets—it was the perfect selection for our holiday.
This is paradise!!! So so beautiful and in a great location. It can accommodate different groups of people; families, groups of friends, honeymoon couples etc. The rooms are clean, big and modern with smart Tvs. There are two well thought out and good sized pools. One in a place with a shade (and a slide) and the other one in the open overlooking the beach. The beach is private and clean. They have two rooftop areas where one can catch the most breathtaking sunset. The food was well prepared and inclusive. The hospitality was excellent. The staff were the cherry on top. The resort is run by Mr Kinoti, a true gentleman, who was constantly on his feet to ensure everything was running seemlessly. The restaurant staff: Juma, Albert, Bakari.... just to mention a few, were so kind and attentive. They went the extra mile to meet our needs always. We couldn't thank them all enough for giving us an unforgettable experience.Ps: The coffee is outstanding!
Absolutely nothing!!!
