Hospedaje El Chino

Pros +

• The bed was comfortable.
• Very comfortable beds, close Huachina 5 soles in a tuktuk or 40min walk.

Cons -

• The room is needing repairs and smells very foisty and the window is jammed shut so no fresh air can circulate. The door to the room doesnt lock so we had to leave our things in an unsecured room each day. There is only ever a child working on reception. On New Years Day there was nobody at reception at all, meaning there was nobody there to let us back into the hostel if we left. We were not provided with toilet roll. Communication was via WhatsApp and payment wasnt calculated correctly meaning we had to arrange to pay more on our 2nd day. All felt quite unofficial.
• In the area there is nothing at all. Any food or restaurants on the maps are just half finished buildings when you arrive at them. Have to walk pretty far to get any choice on where to eat. The rooms are not very sound proof and could hear everything from the street and other rooms as they were in our room from 5am.
