The Arolithos Traditional Village Hotel occupies a cluster of buildings on the mountains outside Heraklion. Built in the late 1980s, it has been purposely designed to reproduce an authentic Cretan village and much care has been taken to recreate the atmosphere of times gone by. In the bedrooms, modern amenities are cleverly blended with traditional . The local taverna organizes Cretan nights with mouthwatering Greek food and folk dances. A number of social events are organized during summer in the open air restaurant. The area boasts dazzling white houses with pretty turquoise windows that host several old-fashioned stores, including a blacksmith.

- The Restaurant was good, affordable, with large portions. Breakfast is also good for the Price, with generous portions. The Outdoor area is beautiful, and the pool is clean. Restaurant staff is friendly.
- The location of the property in the old village, the swimming pool and the little taverna was the only highlight.
Cons -
- We booked Arolithos Traditional Village Hotel in Crete for 4 nights stay. We can't recommend this Hotel. Firstly we couldnt sleep well because they had parties/ events for 2 nights in row with very loud music until 4am, even though the hours of silence in Greece are from 22:00 to 7:30. We have measured the noice inside the room at 4pm, it was over 60 dB. We booked here to take a rest but then we couldnt even sleep!!! Secondly there is no wifi in the room. They said there is only wifi in public areas, but the wifi in the area next to the pool barely works. The only area where the wifi works is the restaurant. Thirdly the bathroom and room floor are dirty. There are no slippers, so that we have to keep wearing shoes all the time inside to room. Lastly we booked the taxi from the hotel at 4am to the airport. The reception person said that she would arrange it for us. Then we have waited for 30m but the taxi didnt come. We tried to call the emergency number of the hotel but no one answered. What a service here!
- The room was old and in need of maintenance, the shower was broken and there was mould in the shower. The bed was hard as a rock. There was no hairdryer which was in the listing.
