This place is awesome. I was a bit weary about reviews that said that people aren?t friendly and that isn?t the case. Caribbean people are misunderstood. You have to be nice to the staff first for them to pay you back in the same kindness.
For an all-inclusive hotel, the food was excellent. And the alcoholic drink selection was amazing, the bar tenders knew how to make every drink I could think of. The room was very clean and comfortable. Note: all electrical outlets use European outlets.

Cleanliness
Nothing at all. Our room was right across from the elevator . There was a stand next to our room door for people to place their cups and plates. This was disgustingly gross . The room was out dated and had a lot of dust every where . Our sheets were dirty

I love the location. It's walkable to downtown. Staff is so friendly. The room has storage for each person but the bed is odd the way it was set up in the room. Only the window 2 beds have access to sun light. Share spaces are ok clean.

The staff and proximity to shopping and restaurants. The grounds are well maintained. The snorkeling off the beach was better than expected.
Location is great - right on Mambo Beach with a growing (ongoing construction of Mambo Beach Blvd as of Feb 2023) variety of shops and restaurants. Beach cabanas are free for resort guests to reserve. Ocean Encounters dive shop is within the resort.

Top Tips
- Hotels in Otrobanda typically offer 20-30% lower rates compared to Punda and provide direct waterfront views of Willemstad’s historic district. Compare prices and confirm your room's window orientation if you want a scenic view.
- Rates for high season (December through April) often increase by 30-50%. Book 3-6 months ahead to secure current prices and preferred room types.
- Expect a 7% government tax plus a nightly resort fee of 10-15 ANG (approx. $9 to $15 USD) added to your hotel bill. Review the full fee breakdown before confirming your booking.
- When paying by card, select billing in Netherlands Antillean Guilder (ANG) to avoid 2-3% Dynamic Currency Conversion fees. Verify the currency on your receipt before approving the charge.
- Power interruptions can last 1-2 hours daily between February and April. Confirm your hotel provides a backup generator for reliable electricity, especially if you use medical or mobility equipment.
- Only 20-30% of Willemstad’s heritage hotels have elevators or ramp access due to colonial architecture. If you need step-free access, request an accessible room or ground-floor accommodation when booking.
- Hotel-arranged airport transfers from Hato International (12 km, 7.5 miles) eliminate fare negotiations, with a typical journey time of 15-25 minutes to central Willemstad. Arrange your transfer in advance if arriving at night.
- Willemstad’s tap water is desalinated and safe to drink. Use a refillable water bottle to reduce plastic waste and save up to $4 USD per day on bottled water.
- Pietermaai, located 1-2 km (0.6-1.2 miles) southeast of Punda, features boutique hotels and nightlife within a 5-10 minute drive of downtown. Choose this area to minimize travel to evening venues.
- Jan Thiel is a dedicated resort area 12-20 minutes from Punda by car, offering direct beach access and onsite recreation. Confirm shuttle schedules if you do not plan to rent a car.
- Restaurant bills often include a 'service' line. If no service charge is listed, a tip of 10-15% is standard. Review your bill before adding gratuity.
- During Christmas, New Year, or Carnival (February/March), availability can be limited and prices may rise sharply. Book 6-12 weeks in advance to secure a reservation.
- Taxis are usually unmetered across Curacao. After dark, use a hotel-arranged dispatch or the official airport taxi desk, and always confirm your fare in advance to avoid overcharging.
- Business travelers should confirm the hotel’s generator or UPS policy for consistent uptime, as occasional outages are possible during storm season or scheduled maintenance.
