Hotel Fjalar

Loved the architecture and style. There was obviously a lot of history in the hotel. The staff was super nice and it was always a pleasure talking to them. The breakfast really included options for everyone.

Maybe the location was bit far from the centrum

Quite a walk to Salo

I liked the bicycle/stroller ramps down the stairs to the rooms. The staff was kind enough to let me keep my bicycle in my room on the balcony. They also gave good recommendations for restaurants nearby. The breakfast had a lot of selection: I liked the espresso maker too.

The rooms were non-smoking but the balconies were not, so I could not open the balcony door for fresh air because the smell of cigarette smoke came in from the balcony of the neighbouring room.

What a great little hotel and ex home to the Nokia boss , very friendly and helpful staff , nice breakfast with everything you need , the rooms were very comfortable and clean and there was a small swimming pool and sauna , easy 10min walk to local shop and pizza place , 15min walk into Salo itself

Couldn’t find fault with this hotel and it’s staff

Location is lovely. Picturesque and quiet. Friendly staff and ample space in the room. Breakfast was plentiful and varied.

WiFi was patchy. Difficult to watch TV streaming services.

Owner and staff were helpful and amiable to make a room change.

The breakfast was decent, albeit the selection was narrow. The sauna and spa were quite decent, although I didn't check whether the swimming pool was heated or not. The hotel had a nice cozy atmosphere and the personnel was great!

The location was nice but outside walking distance from the city centre (of course this depends on the walker!). The room had two tables, neither of which was suited to working comfortably even with a small laptop.

We stayed in the pet friendly room and it was very dark and had only a small window that opened. We ended up keeping the door open to get some air.We had parked our car in front of the hotel and in the morning found human feces thrown on the trunk of our car. At first, I didn't see it and got feces all over my clothes as I was packing the car. I had to change my clothes. I reported the incident to the receptionist. They informed me the camera in that spot wasn't working and handed me a plastic bag to put my dirty clothes in. According to them this had never happened before, so hopefully this was just a freak incident.

Enjoyable stay. Everything was neat and tidy. Lovely quiet neighborhood. Can´t remember the last time I slept so well. Loved the sauna and swimmingpool.

Wonderful small inn. It was even more interesting when I learned about its history as a small home, but you could see how that is evident in the design of the main part of the inn. We used this as a base for exploring Turku and Helsinki and would absolutely recommend it. While we didn’t spend a lot of time at the hotel, it seems to be a good location for that, with nice relaxing space indoor and outdoor.

The staff were so friendly. the location was excellent, right on the Eurovelo 10 route. it was very interesting that the hotel was the original house of the person who developed the Erickson tv’s and phones.
