    Pros +

    • Beautiful resrt with sandstone buildings and trout dams.Lovely spacious room with a fantastic view. The bonus was the bar fridge and porch. The hikes were great - walking in the mountains between the game. The food in the hotel was great. The staff were very friendly
    • The location and the hospitality. Very friendly staff and the chalet was equipped with everything that we needed. Had a fantastic time.
    • Lovely setting and view. Good quality furniture. We emjoyed the fireplace

    Cons -

    • The bed was a bit lumpy, but we still had a good sleep
    • Just the weather was a bit gloomy and didn't pack warm clothes, but thanks to the fireplace and electric blankets we stayed warm ?
    • Timeshare unit upkeep - we had more than one unit and all seemed a bit dated, things not working. Things at main hotel also seemed dated, pool tables in poor shape.

Beautiful views due to high location, game drive/wildlife viewing, fishing, chess, putt-putt, swimming, hot tub etc.

Timeshare unit upkeep - we had more than one unit and all seemed a bit dated, things not working. Things at main hotel also seemed dated, pool tables in poor shape.

Location and setting were fab. Accommodation really good too ... lots of things to do.

Buffet supper (when the resort is busy) ... would have preferred the a la carte option / light meal menu.

Peaceful and quiet. Staff extremely helpful.

Heater not sufficient. Should have warned us about the mud.

    10RenoirPosted on: 4-18-2025

The room was very clean In particular, the bedding and towels. The room is family-friendly and very Cosy-reminded me of a perfect winter holiday setup. It had everything that was needed.Overall, I can't fault the estate nor the chalet. I would give it a 10 out of 10.The hotel accommodated us with a last-minute booking. Priscilla at reception was fantastic. The Chef went out of his way to assist us as we got stuck and he helped us out.Overall the staff is very accommodating, helpful and friendly.

The road towards the estate was a bit of a challenge, but we can't fault the estate as it's a municipal road that has not been tarred.A couple of cars got stucked on this particular stretch of road including myself, due to the rain causing a lot of mud.

everything was spectacular, clean, fresh, friendly staff, the layout of the units are so welcoming. Privacy was amazing.

General property maintenance. Some of the buildings, structures, garden beds need some TLC. But nothing that effected our stay or made it unpleasant.

The view is very nice, the staff was super friendly and the beds in the rooms were comfortable.

The shared area was not very clean, a vacuum cleaner could do the job, there is a lot of carpet which did not feel or look very clean. The dinner was oke, but it deemed very rushed. The spa was oke but also could use an upgrade. The staff in the spa was very professional and friendly though they really did do a great job! Just the facility which is a bit outdated.

Perfect location with beatuiful views and ambiance. Very relaxing and the self-catering suites are well equipped although loadshedding and powerfailures are a challenge.

The dinner menu and quality of the food is definitely not what it used to be.It doesn't seem as if there is any maintenance done at the distant trout dams. The roads are barely recognizeable.

    8TshifhiwaPosted on: 3-7-2025

Self catering, chalet location was far away from each other, and the beds were comfortable.

driving on a gravel road from N4, especially after the rain

    8OupaPosted on: 3-4-2025

    Lovely tranquil location

The gravel road to the location especially with rain can be challenging. It needs to be mentioned that you may need a car with high elevation or better ground clearance for easy access

    8KendaPosted on: 2-25-2025

I loved the sceneries, the food at the restaurant was excellent, the chalets are spacious and well equipped and serviced daily. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

Load shedding started on our first day and continued throughout our stay, surely a huge company like Gooderson Leisure can invest in solar? The windows at the chalets also need maintenance as we had to push them closed from outside

    8DavePosted on: 2-22-2025

Quiet out in the countryside, tranquil and excellent views

Access road conditions after recent rains - muddy slippery and essentially requires a 4x4 to get there in wet conditions We were the only guests

    8LisaPosted on: 2-3-2025

Buffet breakfast is very mediocre. bacon is tough. coffee cups to small for the coffee machine. should have mugs or bigger cups. juice is bahhhh

Breakfast. staff are lovely and accommodating but the food is not good enough to charge R189 per person.

    5VelilePosted on: 1-14-2025

The staff was friendly and the room was clean.

The road to the property is gravel, it was really scary to drive as it was raining and the road was slippery. The TV was not working.Electricity was off from midnight until about 6am, when the generator was eventually started. During the power outage, it was pitch dark, quite scary for me.

    6BuhlePosted on: 1-6-2025

The views and location of the property is just amazing, I would come back mainly for the views and location. The staff are helpful and friendly.

The breakfast could be much better, it way very underwhelming. The chalets are due for an urgent upgrade and the menu could definitely be improved. We ordered a pizza for the kids and it was shocking! The bacon was over cooked, looked like it was boiled and not fried.
