The fire-place in the room, quality bedding, excellent food, beautiful surroundings, friendly staff. Everything was of the highest standard.

I can't fault them on anything.

Beautiful grounds and very friendly staff. Fresh bread in our cottage was a nice touch!

It would have been helpful to have some butter/jam, and milk for coffee and tea to go with the bread upon arrival. Normally we travel prepared to a self catering but this was an international trip with Walkerson’s as our first stop.

The staff are amazing. Dinner was lovely - the set menu was great and the wine cellar had a good selection of wines. The location is simply amazing - we had no idea that there was such a beautiful setting in the area.

The only small issue was that because its winter and all the beds had electric blankets (amazing!), all the plugs were taken next to the bed. The property could do with either more plugs or some USB charging capability for phones etc.

Rooms were a bit dated but service, food and ambience made up for it.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is beautiful. Loved that they make the fire in the rooms.

Just driving down to the Hotel the views took our breath away. From then on we met the most amazing staff throughout our stay. Every single staff member went out of their way to make you feel so special. One night the Chef made oatmeal for my companion who was ill. Every public space and the rooms are luxuriously appointed. Warmth and cosiness envelops you. The Dinners were undescribably mouthwateringly delicious with a different menu every night. At this hotel you do not get 5 star , you get 6 star treatment and value for your money.

The food was good, but the second night's menu seemed very repetitive of the first night, in terms of taste and presentation, even if the protein was different. For example, both nights the second course non vegetarian options were served on the same mayonnaise salad base, making it taste exactly the same. And both nights the red meat main courses were served on mash with the exact same veggies. So I found the second night disappointing and unimaginative. Deserts were baked deserts both nights, and slightly dry.

Wasps infested our cottage but the manager and his staff were brilliant and upgraded us to the most beautiful hotel rooms. Food was lovely! Staff divine!

Customer service was excellent with every one going above and beyond to make sure your every need is met. The food is amazing and I would recommend anyone to come and try the restaurant. Thank you Chef? As a solo traveler it's hard to find those places where there is Beauty, quiet yet enough to keep you occupied. Walkersons has all the above. Thank you team, the stay was phenomenal.

Exceptionally beautiful setting and friendly, attentive staff. We had a fabulous picnic with a basket packed to the brim - more than we could manage. Whilst Dullstroom in itself is nice, quaint little town worth spending a few hours in, all you really need do is relax and explore Walkersons. Food, nature, and peace. All we really needed.

WIFI was poor.

We celebrated my wife’s birthday, and the hotel staff surprised her with a beautifully decorated, delicious birthday cake, with a lovely rendition of ‘happy birthday’. We had a picnic set up next to the river, which was lovely.Food was excellent. The staff were fantastic: very friendly, attentive & professional.

Gets very dark and misty and difficult to drive at night within property

All went well as per usual.Staff extremely friendly and the food is superb.

At night, the temperature in the room with windows and doors closed was, for me, a bit high.

Beautiful and cozy hotel. The staff were wonderful and so accommodating. The scenery is amazing. After lots and lots of rain it was lush and green. It was raining the entire time but its the perfect weather for Dullstroom as we were then able to enjoy the fireplace and the coziness of this old, country style hotel.

There is no aircon but the weather is generally not too hot there so it wasn't a problem for us. Had it been warmer it might have been an issue though. However fans do seem to be available on request.

There was no negatives in our stay

Extremely friendly staff who went out of their way to assist with all requests. Great food. Beautiful setting and buildings. Rooms were serviced twice a day. Very save environment. We spend new year at the hotel and it was very peaceful. Rooms are spacious with outside sitting area. Good wifi. Hotel is very well managed with a smooth check in procedure.

Nothing I didn't like. It was a great experience.

The location

We booked a lakeside suite. We were put in a elapodated room, with a terrible bathroom. Instead of the lakeside we were at a pond. Our objection was not handled with care and understanding by the management of the hotel.

The swimming pool was lovely. Staff were great and the meal was excellent
