Beautiful Rooms
No bc atmosphere in the pub/restaurant . No Bar service
Beautiful hotel with amazing food and I received excellent service from the staff! My room was spacious, with a lovely reading area, great porch and a heavenly bed!! The staff assisted me by lighting the fire in the fireplace and switching on the electric blanket creating a cozy warm atmosphere in the room when I returned at night.
The information on the hotel’s amenities on the bookings.com site could be better as it shows the room had no toilet, which was incorrect. The room had a full bathroom.
Very good
The fireplace was used, still had a lot of ash, and there was only 3 pieces of wood in our room. We did not use it, but I was going to.
Room was an extremely generous size with a nice balcony. Very comfortable all round.Breakfast and light snacks for dinner was really good and a very nice bar area.

All the staff were lovely and friendly. The property is decorated and furnished in period - it is almost like staying in a museum.Breakfast was freshly prepared and lovely.
One of the best luxurious hotels in Mpumalanga, lovely stuff. I loved how they managed to organise something i had planned to surprise my wife with.
Very good
the fact that when we booked out they had added breakfast to our bill, when we queried they removed it the Lady had the audacity to send someone after us as we were driving out of the premises to ask ARE WE SURE WE NEVER HAD BREAKFAST THIS WAS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE
Friendly staff, beautiful gardens and spacious room.
Fireplace, size of room, Scottish design, situation
Door didn’t work properly, some maintenance to do (lose shower shelf,…)
The rooms are luxurious, spacious and well laid out.
Not really cons but some suggestions.1. The step in front of the room is quite high and might be difficult to climb for an older person or someone with mobility issues. Suggest building one more step for ease of access.2. There are no water bottles provided in the room. No signs informing if the water in the tap is suitable for drinking.Suggest providing reusable bottles at reception and a source of drinking water so that guests can refill their own bottles.3. There are steep stairs from the reception to the rooms. Suggest no slip strips on the stairs so that it is not risky to go down the stairs when it rains.
bedroom and outdoors
reception area and the breakfast restaurant upstairs
The rooms were big and spacious. The bed was comfortable and it was clean.
They were not very accommodating and the rooms were pretty dated, the shower had poor water pressure. For the price, breakfast could be included and water should be supplied in the rooms.
Location
Showers were not workingTowels were smelly, face cloths old and tackyPillows were flat not supportive to the neckNobody called us to let us know the restaurant was closing at 20:30TV doesn't even have basic channels one will normally get in a 4 starSunday morning there people playing loud music at the pool for hoursAt breakfast there was no fresh juice, who serves magalies juice at a 4 star
Dinner exceptional - all dishes beautifully presented and good ingredientsUsed . Breakfast was good strangely for this awesome location we were the only guests
Wifi/Internet was slow - however might have been a external issue asMobile Data use was also extremely slow
Dinner and breakfast was superb ?The decor of Highlander is outstaning and the atmosphere in dining room is excellent.
Can I recomend an excellent product that help with yellow stain marks in the bathroom? It is Triple Red Toilet Bowl Descaler and cleaner.I bought it at Takealot.
Suites are stunning, Food is exceptional.
Would have loved the pool te be heated.Otherwise, everything else is awesome
Spacious rooms, little extra items, heated towel rails, support of local community via fire wood sales. Bathrooms really sparkling… Meal delicious but thought a bit overpriced.
