Elgin Guest House

The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. The grounds are well-maintained and the staff are helpful. There is a small kitchenette with a bottle of milk from their farm and freshly baked rusks. The cooked breakfast was very good.

There wasn't much water or water pressure for showering.

Location, cleanliness and willingness of staff to make the stay comfortable

It was very clean and the room was comfortable and had lovely furnishings. Our host was attentive and friendly and we were happy there was a restaurant and some shops next door with chickens and ducks roaming freely outside. We enjoyed the stay and wished we had stayed longer!

price was a bit on teh high side the kitchnette could have had a toaster at minimum.

Breakfast was good and Lindiwe prepared it very well. My suggestion will be provide visitors with menu in the rooms so when they go for breakfast knowing what to expect.

English breakfast includes sausages and may you have more fruit salads instead. Since it’s loadshedding, pls provide alternatives in the rooms . Pls maintain your building, and the pool .

The breakfast was fantastic and the staff were great and very helpful. There is a restaurant called the Olde Duck right behind the accommodation and the food and cakes on offer are amazing. There is also a lovely gift shop and a number of cycling and walking trails. The accommodation is very close to Underberg town and other amenities. The rooms are very spacious and well equipped.

Breakfasts were simple yet delicious, quickly prepared. Lovely room and bedding. Complimentary bottle of wine to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary was a lovely surprise.

Unfortunately the pics on the add of the property view were not where we stayed. We were hoping for a view of the dam but stayed at a new venue. Guesthouse had moved. We drove around a bit trying to find the right place.

It’s tired. pool was dirty and not swim able. very little information on the area and what to do. very noisy staff quarters next to accommodation. tv limited to local channels only.

Despite paying for it, we did not partake in breakfast, checked out after 1st night of 3 night stay.

Beautiful Rooms with modern design and furnishings. the bathrooms are exceptional. the staff were very very nice and friendly. great breakfast as well.

they should consider a pavement walkway to the rooms. the grass was very wet and unpleasant to walk on. the room had a carpet/mould smell which was a bit too much for us.

Situated just out of town.clean and comfortable.The opportunity to have your evening meal at the property was an added bonus.The staff were happy to arrange our trip to the Sani pass for us.

Unfortunately there was a lot of rain about during our stay. Trying to get luggage from car to room across wet muddy grass was very unpleasant and messy as was getting from the room to the breakfast area. Indeed another guest slipped whilst we were there.Swimming pool not in any condition to be used if weather had been better.

The staff was very helpful and friendly especially Lindiwe.

Everything is good,. Kindly consider doing car port's for visitors, for safety of their cars especially on rainy days.Attention to the water as well when it's raining.

Lovely property. Very quiet and pictoresque. Very accommodating. Great outdoor spaces with stunning mature trees and meadows all around. Good WiFi. A great spot from which to plan day hikes on the Central Drakensberg area. Great value!

Not a fault of the guest house, but the South African brown outs (load shedding) can an inconvenience which force you to plan around the two or three hours of day (or night) when the power is off.

What a wonderful place to stay! Clean, crisp linens, beautiful views and Lindiwe was an exceptional host. Her food is scrumptious and she made sure we were very comfortable.Excellent value for money.
