The Staff were friendly.And the security guard Ben was very polite and helpful.

We booked months in advance to have our rooms separated far apart. The alternative rooms offered to us were atrocious and smelt of Damp.We were told they were fully booked and couldn't accommodate us better regardless that we booked months in advance. Yet while we were checking in, they assisted people without a booking at all. The food is very nice but everything is served warm or luke warm. None of the food or hot drinks are served hot at all. Which is disappointing because the weather was freezing and hot food feels homey and warms you up. They only served dinner at the bar portion of the accommodation during our stay which was okay but they never lit the fire on that side of the bar. The bar also Didn't serve proper coffee at all, but charged R25 for hot water and a sachet of coffee you get for free in your rooms. They could definitely do better with the facilities and cleaning of the rooms. Our room smelt terribly of incense to cover up the smell of the damp.The water pressure is non-existent, and it felt like an absolute waste of water waiting forever for it to heat up just to bath or wash up with the basin.The rooms have no wifi and no TV, so if you're staying here during the colder weather, be prepared.We had high expectations for our stay here but ended up leaving 2 days early because it just wasn't comfortable and the rooms were freezing. It just wasn't up to par.Very sad because this property has plenty of potential.

Friendly, well-situated hotel with very nice gardens and great breakfasts.

It was convenient and had ample parking.

The rooms were old and dirty, my door lock did not work at all and my whole door frame was crumbling. The room looked like it needed a coat of paint. The toilet kept getting stuck in flush and so I couldn't get it to stop running water, the windows didn't close properly. Our party got a stomach bug from drinking the water, my shower only ran at boiling hot with very little water pressure. The place felt grimy and basic and like not much thought had gone into guest comfort.

We had quite a few mosquitos but that was easily solved. I would recommend taking a mosquito machine and a 2 prong adapter.

The Himeville arms is an institution, almost a right of passage if you're about to go up Sani pass. The location is great

Our room was right there on the courtyard. The place felt a bit old. Everything was worn but not in a good way.

Great location in town, restaurant attached for convenience, nice rooms and well kept grounds.

The shower was just a bath tub with the shower head attachment that needed to be held. It would be so easy to add in a wall holder for it so that guests could take a shower with two free hands. Lots of mosquitos in the room as well

The property was very clean, quiet and has enough space for children to play.

Wooden floors very dangerous with protruding nails, flat boards here and there used to close the holes on the floor.No TV for a price of R1984.Some hidden places has old dust that has never been touched. Spider web in some corners. The room that I was to be allocated was not ready at 17h00 on our arrival.

Rather basic room - bath but no shower. The hotel has an old-fashioned ambience. The food was not great.

Dry and the tomato was uncooked and the cheese not melted. Cheese was limited. Arrival was confusing till i pitch at reception and was assisted very friendly and speedy by the lovely staff. All confusions sorted in 5 minutes. Restaurant has amazing food and friendly waiters will most definitly be back

Old property that needs more focus upkeep mostly on the inside of where I stayed. 1. Rule of not bringing in food from outside needs to be on the website so we see before booking2. No curtains on the bathroom windows- argument could be that the windows are high but still I was not comfortable with this. Not even frosted glass on those windows Overall better up keep on the property is needed.

The location was where it needed to be - close to where the race was taking place. However, there was no mention of the fact that the entrance to the parking was another street, which had bad potholes. The potholes may not the problem of the property, but Reception did not warn us of this fact and we arrived when it was getting dark. We could have damaged our car :(

The picture provided were not of teh room that I was put in. I booked unit 13, a family room with a shower as shown on Bookings.com but I was given Unit 2 which had shabby furniture and the fireplace was not cleaned since the last fire was lit. There was no-one manning the gate to the parking, so one of us had to open and close it after our car.

There was no heating system and it was very cold at night atleast if they could have electric blanket or a heater

They need to have aircorn or heater.Their breakfast is not up to standard. No cereal and also meal that accommodate someone who does not eat pork
