Orange River Rafting Lodge

Beautiful location, and great hospitality. Drinks and dinner at the property is a must. World class food from a simplistic kitchen.

Lekker views of the river. Bar staff and host made a good effort. Felt safe in the resort. Bed was confy. Beers were cold

The chalet needed some fixing up. Door latches and handles being jimmied fixed, and doors not being square, clear unfinished repairs within the unit. Over all feel of the need for attention to detail was clear

The bar area with it's shaded seating area and nearby pool, and the awsome view of the Orange river.

There was no dish towel, there were ants in the kitchen area and the kitchen utensils were limited

This lodge needs some upgrading, in particular the rooms need cleaning and repairs.

The swimming pool water is not clear, the bottom and sides of the pool are dangerously slippery/slimy. The communal area is in desparate need of an upgrade. The large pouffes are grubby and torn. The wooden tables and benches look like they have seen better days. The tables are alive with ants while you are trying to eat your meal. There are no televisions in the chalets (as indicated on your website). There is no Wifi in the chalets as advertised. This is a problem for people who need to work while away from home. When we went for supper at 7.30pm the kitchen was already closed - totally unacceptable. This could be an amazing holiday destination if these issues were attended to soon.

I just felt like having cocktails but they didn't have .they don't have TV's and wifi in their rooms

It’s a great location, the staff were really friendly. The room was cool- good air con, and comfortable. It’s well equipped and you can grab a beer by the river. Www.mindchampions.org (online English, chess, and science classes available)

The food wasn’t up to much. It’s the only place to eat really and was well below average.

The place is excellent to unwind, the views from the veranda are breathtaking. The manager and workers there always happy to help and serve to our requests.

Peaceful, tranquility and well organized. Food was fantastic and drinks always cold. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were air-conditioned witch made the stay even better specially in the extreme heat. Will definitely go back.

Pool needs some attention

Good location for when you are traveling to Namibia. Nicely located on the Orange River. The 3 bedroom cottage is really nice with much needed aircon and nice bedding. Also nice Braai area. There is also a nice pool area where you can braai or a restaurant/ bar area

The one bedroom cottage needs a bit of TLC and was very hot even with the aircon.

Even the deluxe chalets are very basic ("rustic"), close to each other, and quite dark. Very low levels of maintenance (our door didn't work and toilet leaked flooding the floor), the pool was green and litter and cigarette butts laying around. Staff were nice enough but not very engaged. Awful road to the resort. Very basic bar and food options. This place has seen better days...

Very relaxing place to just rest.

I have booked the 6 sleeper chalet at Orange river rafting lodge in Vioolsdrif earlier this year. To be honest the pictures are quite deceiving from what you get in person.The drive to get to the lodge is absolutely horrible and we can see that the road does not get scraped very often. You cannot come here with a small car. We were greeted with a warm welcome however, the staff seemed very rude as we stayed on and did not greet unless we greeted them first. The bathroom had a horrible smell and the toilet keeps leaking. This prevented the toilet bowl from filling and we had to ask the helper twice to come fix the toilet. It also seems as if the lodge's water supply comes from the river because the water smells bad. My family also complained about the pool being slippery and full of algae. This stopped most of us going into the pool. I was asked when we wanted room service and we said on the second day. On the second day we waited for the room service until past 12 and we had to ask the ladies ourselves to come and clean the rooms. The ladies were very unfriendly. The chalet was also full of cockroaches and insects. This was very off putting.A few months back when I spoke to the manager I was told that we don't have to check out immediately at 10'o clock. We can check out later which gave us the peace of mind to leave the place at eaze and not in a rush. And this morning we were told to leave at 10. This is something that has to be communicated with us. Overall, this was not the best experience and it is such a beautiful and relaxing place. I hope for the lodge to take this into consideration and make a lot of improvements.

Friendly staff and very helpful, clean accommodation, great beds and crispy linen, great tasting burgers at the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised and had a wonderful stay!

The swimming pool and loungers need a little attention.

Very helpful staff and beautiful site. Staff helped us with car problems, filled our 15 liter water tank and was overall an amazing experience. Swimming pool, bar and facilities are incredible. Restaurant food is top notch and river rafting is incredible and a can’t miss experience.

Reception staff very friendly

The room wasn't properly cleaned. Tinny spiders on bed; spider webs and dried bird poo on headboard. Shower slow drainage, unhygienic to stand on dirty water while showering. My colleague didn't have warm water? I spent almost an hour hunting for huge something crawled in the bed, which I couldn't find. My last option was to sleep in the car. Eventually after nearly given up a lizard crawl out which horrified me as well. If there were notice/warning about it would have easy the panic stricken. I did mention it at the reception and the respond was, it's harmless. Who want to sleep with Lizards? As for the bad road, more specially for us since we were traveling to Luderitz. Our safety wasn't guaranteed, the road is very bad. It's not gravel, it's rocky; a tractor would be recommended, as for or poor SUV we were shuttered.The place really needs renovation, different from the photos on website!!!!

As per usual, we had a lovely stay, a great location, did some fishing from the small island , and the pool is awesome. Out of all the places alongside the Orange River - Orange river rafting lodge is def the best for us. Staff is always so friendly. See you soon

Staff were very helpful and went out of there way to help us arrange a BBQ. Vaughn was was a legend and helped us a change a flat Tyre we couldn't get our spare out. This venue is screaming holiday vibes and truly makes you feel special.

Nothing would highly recommend.

The pizza was awesome. The lower camp spots were wind free. Staff was friendly and the river is nice and safe for small children at the beach launch
