    • Great location with lovely views, so peaceful in the evenings. Charming hotel inside with wonderful period decor and details. Friendly, welcoming staff. Good breakfast

    Cons -

    • We did not get any breakfast since they were out of eggs.
    • Bathroom needed a shower curtain to stop water going all over the floor.
    • Not a comfortable mattress. The hotel is old and wooden, but I didn't have much discomfort.Got a room in the main hotel building instead of a bungalow. I was alone so there was no problem with that. A bit far from the city centre if you walk. No problem by car, the distance is about 3 km.

    Bad

unfortunately I got bitten by bedbugs, extremely dirty, smelly, the worst experience I ever had

Beautiful old hotel with a great history and good surrounding walks

Friendly staff from the moment we arrived. Stunning hotel that is unique in the area. Excellent bar that can get a bit lively at night (avoid room 311 at weekends if you want an early night!).

If you're looking for a perfect boutique hotel without any imperfections then this is probably not for you but if you love character and are happy to prioritise something a bit different, with amazing spaces and a great view of the fjord then this is for you ?

Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Location and view from the window are also very nice!

There was no lift ,I had to move my suitcase from the first floor to the third floor, which was helped by a friendly staff member. The facilities in the room were old and lacked many essential items.

Location. Plenty of parking. Easy to find.

    Food very average.

Very good location and nice view

The breakfast was very limited and the morning staf looked bored and unhappy. The eggs was very undercooked.

The only thing I can think about was that our car stayed within reach of our bedroom window....

Almost everything... I can't recommend this place to any person and we end up coming there because there wasn't enough options available by the time we arrange our booking...

We liked the ambiance of this more than 100 year old hotel. Nice location at the end of the fjord. Lucky with weather so could enjoy our beer on the patio in the sun. The place is managed by a lady who does everything. Check in/out, bar, dining room. Amazing!!!

The dinner wasn’t great. Only a choice out of 2 items. Chose the ham-slices with vegetables and vegetables. Not our best meal so far in Norway.Lack of elevators, but you can hardly expect those in a building this age.

Location is good The woman at the reception was nice and the hotel looks nice when working.

Unfortunately I was the only guest at the hotel So they decided to close it and I stayed on my own.The bar and the restaurant was closed as well and I got from the lady sandwiches for the next morning which got a bit dry in the morning. Not even coffee in the room for breakfast.Wi-Fi didn’t work in my cabin and outside of it.No one left in the hotel At least they could offer me some compensation.

The staff was pleasant and helpful. The location of this vintage hotel is good. Perfect for few nights stay. Nothing fancy.

I didn't like neither supper neither breakfast.

Location was excellent. Great views and charming old hotel. Lots of interesting history connected with the hotel. Breakfast was very good. Lots of hot and cold items on the buffet. Good coffee!

The beds were not good. Uncomfortable. Towels just OK and no shampoo supplied.

Magnificent building Average breakfast in a massive dining space - all to ourselves!!

Unrestricted Wi-Fi would have made f more relaxed use!Bathroom was somewhat dated - but ok

The location is awesome. We booked a cottage, but we regret this after we saw the hotel rooms. Advise, book a room with a sea view for the best experience of this hotel with great heritage!

Breakfast very basic, but not a deal breaker.

if you like faded glory, this is the place to go. One can still feel the grandeur of past days.

The cabins are just an awful place to stay. The mattresses are horrible and the cabin itself dark and damp. The food served at the hotel was also not very tasty to say the least (salmon, potato’s and vegetables completely over cooked).

    5AndersPosted on: 7-25-2022

Main building looks very nice and has a good view of the fjord and the mountains. Breakfast was good, but they do not manage to keep the hot dishes hot.

We had a bungalow next to the main hotel. Here the Wi-Fi does NOT WORK. No info about this. The cabin had a smell of moist/basement. Not worth the Prince. Had dinner at the hotel. It was ok, but nothing special.

The hotel was once impressive and it keeps some of its charm. The location was good as it is very close to the Ryfylke national scenic tourist road.

Unfortunately the place is in dire need of renovations. Everything is outdated and even if the staff does what they can with what they have, it is obvious that they are not professional hospitality staff. We stayed in the exterior rooms, they are outdated, uncomfortable, with a carpet that has seen better days, no possibility to adjust the heating in the bathroom (was way too hot), dark despite of the lamps (some of which didn't work, even if we asked to change the bulbs), and the water came out dangerously hot. No wifi nor pool even if this was announced in the hotel's profile. We had dinner there on arrival but I'd recommend eating in the town, it was an overpriced, very average and halfway warm meal made by staff who again, seems to have no professional training in the kitchen.
