Pros +
- Lovely staff quirky unique rooms and great location.
- Very well designed, but room was a little tired in details largely in bathroom floor tiling. But rest of room was very shic and nicely put together.
- Lovely staff, great location, cosy beautiful room, nice food!
Cons -
- Bedding was clean but rest of room and look could have been cleaner given 4 star
- The room was at the front of the building and got all the noise from the road and people leaving pubs late in the evening. Ear plugs would be a good idea, guess it would be even more so in summer when warm and people are out later. The heating was on full to get the room nice and warm for my arrival but did nearly burn myself on the radiartor in the bathroom with it being so close to the wc when you sit down it was really warm. Bit of my error too.

It was all lovely!
The staff was fantastic - my husband was sick so they were able to find an additional room for me, continually checked in about how he was feeling, and delivered food to his room. The location is fantastic - couldn't be a better place to stay - close to the water, close to town with shops and restaurants, close to public transportation. The rooms were clean and each had a distinct personality.
EverythingPossibly the best place we have ever stayed and definitely will be backRoom was beautiful, restaurant and food incredible, staff you want to be friends with. From the moment we arrived till we left it was just such a joy
Good location close to the water on a quaint street with shops and pubs. Parking wasn’t an issue.
I didn’t get value for ~180GBP per night. Stayed two nights; was a double occupancy room but super crampt even for a single person.Aircon was fully defunct. What was most disappointing was that they didn’t do up my room on day 2 despite explicitly leaving instructions, and were offering out bar drinks / fudge as compensation for the slip up ?
Horrible
Smelled. Dirty. Small. Nohing like the photos. nisleading website and description.
The suite we had was stunning. Bed was super comfy. location excellent.
Dinner was disappointing. Over ambitious menu that was executed poorly. We were seated by a radiator blasting us with heat which was uncomfortable. The table was wobbly. On arrival, despite having paid for the stay in full in advance, I was asked for my card to "verify my booking". After waiting for ten minutes for this to happen, the person on reception gave up and showed me to the room. After dinner, I was chased up the stairs while opening the door to my room, and the waiter was demanding payment for dinner on the spot. This really was not a great ending to a very average evening.
Facilities and staff
Excessive noise throughout the night from occupants of adjoining room.
We were allocated a gorgeous room with superking size bed, big bathroom after the first room we had booked was a bit small for us, our bags and our dog! They gave Mabel our labrador, a lovely big bed to sleep on too and tasty treats. Very friendly, kind and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Sea and lido just down the road, plus the beautiful Morrab Gardens and Regency Square.
Finding the location was tricky as the High Street was closed to traffic until 4pm and our Sat nav sent us round very narrow lanes trying to get to the hotel. There is only short term parking outside although we managed to find 3 hour parking further down the road and could have used a car park further away. The property is looking a little tired on the outside but lovely once inside.
Location was great, however no parking, really quirky, and the pub opposite is defiantly worth a visit
Nothing it was brilliant.
Great secluded hotel just a stones throw from all the attractions yet still private and quiet location. Whenever we are visiting for just a few days this is our location of choice.
It’s all great?
the room VERY clean and comfortable - as was the bathroom. great bed linen too. and the staff were incredibly helpful. polite and just great to have around. the hotel in a great location too
there's a caveat to this - I work in music so my hearing is acute.... there was an electronic buzz in room 6 which the hotel did know about when I told them ('maintenance' were aware....)- but drove me nuts so after two nights was moved to room 18. But that room window is by an industrial extractor fan - which means if you open the window (which I need to do as I need fresh air) the noise from the fan is really very loud. so in have to go earplugs (supplied I might add in the bathroom care pack). so I'd say avoid room 18 at all costs - 6 when they've fixed the electronic buzz is a great room.
Having stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions it always delivers on quality with warm and friendly staff. Rooms verge on the luxurious and with everything that you could need. The breakfast menu is very good and varied with something for everyone's taste.
Nothing, all was perfect.
Everything was great.Lovely cosy, nicely designed quiet room with radio, a good hot shower and an extremely comfortable large bed plus lovely Bramley toiletries to use.Breakfast was exceptionally good made with good quality produce. Staff very friendly and helpful.(Dont skip the breakfast if you stay here!!)
Everything was perfect.
The room was beautiful & we LOVED every detail. The upgrade for the bath was definitely worth it & the overall vibe was lovely. Would 1000% recommend.
Although we loved our stay, we felt a little disappointed with the attentiveness of the staff. We didn’t feel very welcomed. Working in hospitality myself, I understand it’s hard to juggle everything, but we did feel a lack of warmth and communication. However, it could have just been a stressful day & we had a great time overall.
The location is lovely and the art work is cool.
I am not sure it was that great value for money. It felt like a hotel du vin but not done as well. Minimal staff. Did not feel as warm a reception as other boutique chains.
Room, breakfast, dinner
All good
Loved our cosy room overlooking the rooftops of Penzance with a slight glimpse of the sea. Great cocktails and lounge to relax. Lovely dinner menu with good variety for a couple of days so you don’t need to go anywhere else.
It was hit and miss checking in even though we had paid in full because we didn’t have a physical credit card which was a requirement. Had not been advised this on any booking information. Thankfully they accepted a card details and a photograph as we were able to get our daughter to send those. This should be outlined in booking instructions or on their website. Breakfast was a bit of a soggy mess. Nice menu but my toast was soggy so the avocado and eggs on top made it all just soggy. Not sure if that was kitchen being short staffed but it wasn’t a good start to the day. Minibar was expensive. Eg a half bottle of champagne was £36! If they made the prices the same as retail prices we would have made good use of it as we just wanted to hunker down and chill out in our room on a couple of nights.
Stayed at Christmas and everyone worked so hard to give us a great time. Lovely room with a very comfortable bed, delicious food including the best Christmas pudding we’ve ever had and a delicious veggie breakfast. Great location in the centre of Penzance and near the Jubilee pool
