- The staff were very friendly and so accommodating! My room was cosy and clean and the views from the balcony were lovely!
Cons -
- No flannels in bathroom or shower caps in one room which are needed when you have overhead showers
- rooms were dirty and outdated and we cancelled one night and Booking.com has not paid us the £169.00 back
- We had trouble unlocking our door and had to seek assistance as lock was temperamental. Soap in bathroom had gone off and separated. This was shared with a member of staff.

Great location CleanComfortableGreat breakfast
Bit tired My room was in the back of a car park
Location
Felt a little let down on seeing room. Odd chair and coffee table was heavily marked. Bath fittings were loose. Tricky to use bath/shower taps.
Breakfast good.Staff friendlyGreat view from room 4
Balcony needs TLCBathroom not as clean as could have been, mould on tilesBedhead loose and noisyNo handwash in bathroom ( rectified when I complained)No hairdryer in room ?♀️Told kitchen was shutting at 5.30 on day of arrival !
Breakfast was really good.
Cleanliness of roo.. carpets dirty, cobwebs a d hair in bathroom.
Right on the seafront, close to all the amenities.
Lack of parking
Location and staff
When booking to come again and a twin room I would not choose for the reason being that did not Like location of it being at the back of venue as could be noisy at times
Good location, v good staff. Good BF.
All good
Good location Breakfast Good selection well presented
Arrived early no parking spaces available bet later in the day there was seemed to be hit and miss
Lovely location, friendly staff and comfortable bed
Unfortunately the carpet was very grubby and the bathroom door does not open easily. Just felt like it needed a deep clean and revamp. Lots of noise from the room above.
Very friendly place with lovely, fresh seafood. A little short staffed but making up for any wait with friendliness.
Great locationNice breakfast, eventually!!!Lovely big room
Had to wait over 40 minutes to be served breakfast! This time they blamed the system! We ordered more tea and are still waiting for it 3 days later!! We’ve been here several times and breakfast is always a shambles! The restaurant closed at 7pm on a busy Saturday! so we couldn’t get a meal. We were meeting friends for dinner and had checked that the restaurant would be open only to be told later that it was closing early! There’s not many places to eat on Mersea so had to arrange to go off the island! Very embarrassing!!!Had to wait ages for a parking space because the pub uses the same car park, needs designated hotel guest parking. And still no complimentary water in the room!!But nice rooms with a view!
Lovely location, lovely room with a sea view and balcony. The staff were brilliant, so friendly and welcoming, and couldn't do more for you ?
The food was amazing. We had breakfast each morning, freshly cooked, a la carte menu, not buffet style. We also had dinner one night. Good choice of cuisines and especially seafood dishes. Our room was clean and comfortable, with tea & coffee making facilities plenty of clothes hangers and a good size shower room. The French windows directly onto the shared balcony was a lovely touch and we could enjoy beautiful views from there over the marina and out to th water.
The bed could be more comfortable, neither of us slept perfectly and my husband woke up sore each morning. There was no hairdryer in the room, we had to ask for one & it took quite awhile for one to be found in another room! They didn't have gluten-free bread available on the first morning, even though I'd requested gluten-free options when booking, and some of the staff didn't seem to know the difference between a gluten intolerance and being vegan!
Room was everything we needed and shower was lovely and hot. Balcony was an added bonus to sit in the sunshine
Breakfast was ok but not great black pudding wasn’t cooked enough neither were the eggs or the tomatoes and the toast wasn’t toast but warm bread.
Bathroom floor was not very clean.
