Pros +
- It made the perfect base in for exploring the north
- It was close to the Open championship in portrush and it was clean.
- The staff was very helpful. The restaurant was very good as well. Breakfast was huge!
Cons -
- It was WAY overpriced, just because of the open. Having paid a lot of money there wasn’t even a fan available for the room and it was uncomfortable. The bedding was uncomfortable. The doors in and out of the hotel were a real annoyance. Doors slammed on the rooms. The dining options were poor. It was not a restaurant, it was a fast food seating.
- My single bed was very lumpy. The staff helped me by providing an extra blanket so I could sleep on top of the duvet.
- No complaints, this was a pleasant surprise of a place

I discovered The Dark Hedges, which aren't dark and they aren't hedges, but they're a nice little walk of an evening. I was only here cos it was the closest I could afford to the place I was working the next day (there was golf on) so I'm glad it's where I ended up.
No complaints, this was a pleasant surprise of a place
The hotel is really good, the staff super nice and the restaurant a little pricey but food and beer were really good.
I was there to see the dark hedges and Giants Causeway. Loved that it was near everything I wanted to see! Property has a nice restaurant and it was so cozy!
I loved everything about the place will return!
Really comfortable beds! Super clean and quiet. Best food! Staff is super friendly and very accommodating.
Hotel was close to Dark Hedges - a short walk. There was ample parking (once you parked in the correct hotel carpark), Staff were pleasant. View from restaurant was good. There was a kettle in room.
We stayed one night in the off season (March) and it appeared that there was only us and perhaps one other couple staying as no one else was seen or heard and only one other car in carpark. Hotel and room were very dated. No fridge in room. Room key was temperamental (stated by hotel too) and sometimes took several attempts to unlock the door. Room was cold. There was a strange smell emanating from the hallways - possibly cigarette smoke - although our room did not smell. TV did not work - possibly flat batteries in remote?? I did inform staff the following morning, (no one appeared to be around at night), but it made for a very quiet, long and boring night. Staff seemed to knock off at 1700 and no one was around in reception area. Restaurant - there appeared to be only us - massive selection on menu. I am of the opinion that a smaller menu cooked well is better than having a huge variety of dishes as they can't possibly be prepared fresh. We settled on 2 X fish and chips - not the greatest. Took a long time for hot water. I was initially not even going to bother having a shower because the room was so cold and water took so long to warm up - but eventually did. Breakfast had to be ordered the night before by filling out a breakfast card. We opted for the earliest breakfast time of 0830. We had in fact planned to be back on the road by then but had to wait. Limited variety and no indication of how it would be prepared. Opted for some toast, fruit salad and yoghurt - didn't think I would receive a massive bowl filled with plain yoghurt and another huge bowl filled with fruit. Cold toast is not enjoyable. I can see that with limited guests it is not worth a buffet style breakfast but this was old school for a hotel. I probably wouldn't stay again and would only recommend if making a quick visit and weren't too interested in anything more than the basics. I thought it was quite expensive for what was offered.
We loved everything about this accommodation. Clean rooms. Nice view of grounds. Pretty walk to the Hedges past the 17 century home. The breakfast was made to order and was more than we could eat. The home made side of fruit salad was fresh and delish. The staff treated us like family.
Nice and clean, close to things we wanted to see. Quite and staff and food was great!
If you want to be able to walk to the Dark Hedges trees, this is the place. Quiet room. Lovely staff. Restaurant on site had decent food.
Beds not very comfortable.
Clean, great front of house staff. Good food.
Very veryyyyyyyyyyy slow food service.
This is a great, clean hotel where you can walk to the Dark Hedges. The breakfast was fantastic.
No hot water turned on in my room and could not get in touch with anyone to get it turned back on via phone or there what's app messenger support. I was too tired to chase anyone down as the lobby was on a skeleton crew when we arrived. They did turn it on in the morning, but a hot shower would of been nice the evening before after a long day of traveling.
Food was pretty good in the restaurant, comfortable spacious room with large bathroom, front of house staff and breakfast staff were great.
The 2 girls serving dinner in the restaurant were the most grumpy waitresses I've ever seen. Not a smile between them, actually quite rude to be honest, never once checked to see if meal was ok. Also just swiped plates away as soon as we'd finished without saying anything.
?????Arrived and was made most welcome by the friendly receptionist. Room was spacious and spotless. Beds are super comfy. Loved the extra accessories in the room, tea/coffee/hot chocolate and biscuits ? We had dinner which was delicious and breakfast on both mornings was varied and delicious. A good breakfast to set you up for the day. The owners Julie & Amy made us feel most welcome and shared stories about their hotel and some historical events. They made time to chat to all the guests. It truly is a “home from home” and will definitely return. ?????
Nothing at all to dislike!
Breakfast fantastic Staff lovely Bedroom very clean
Nothing at all
Location was great for day trips all over Northern Ireland. Being so close to the Dark Hedges is an early morning perks! If you want quiet and zero interaction with staff and a comfy bed this is a great place.
Really dated decor (1980’s), unfriendly staff, corridor of first floor smelled like cigarettes all the time, though our room did not. Zero communication from staff to guests; front desk is not open in the am; you need code to get into hotel after hours but no one told us - I only knew because read someone’s review.
Location, view, and the food and service in the restaurant were AMAZING!
Only negative was the Receptionist didn't tell us how to get back into the hotel during the after hours.
The staff went above and beyond our expectations. They provided us a breakfast take away since we needed on the road early morning. Cormac and the Inn's chef provided us with great conversation the night we stayed. Watching rugby at the bar. Local history, eg. Was great fun !!
All excellent service.
The grounds were lovely. I had the option to have some wine and chocolate upon arrival, a nice touch. The food for breakfast was so good and generous. We ate dinner in the new restaurant and it was excellent. A perfect spot to relax after a red eye flight.
