Fence Gate Lodge

I have stayed here before, I did request the same room I stayed in before. I requested this before arriving and was told I would be. On arrival I was given a different room and the bed was not very comfortable at all. Probably had about 45mins sleep. I couldn’t wait to get home if I’m being honest.

I love how clean and friendly the staff are. The breakfast was really good too.

I rented the apartment room , no heat, no hot water, unadvertised flight of narrow stairs to get to the bedroom, no elevator, no room phone so had to continuously go the front desk to get tissues and get help to get some heat. And to top it off, a Wake was scheduled at the private room entrance which required the use of a separate door to the street and walk outside around the building instead of using the advertised private entrance.Then they gave me Room 8 where tables are under room window where people were drinking to all hours of the night making it difficult to sleep.

The property was clean, well-maintained, and had a charming atmosphere. I especially appreciated the peaceful surroundings and excellent value for money.

There was nothing I disliked — everything met my expectations as far as my stay went, I did not eat ir use any facilities except the room as I was only there one night. I’d most certainly stay again

Party booking on. Music and noise till midnight. Whole floor smelt of fish. Had to keep the window open all night. Felt cold.

Coffee machine in the breakfast area, not suitable for flow of guest and some of the tables need replacing , minor points really

Very modern, clean, friendly staff. Room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable.

We were in room 6, which must be only several feet away from a very busy road which we could hear constantly through the night. If we had been on the other side of the facility it would have been much better.

Nothing to dislike it was in a beautiful surroundings with Amazing views , beautiful spacious comfortable bedrooms

The lodge was lovely The breakfast was great Staff were friendly BUT …. The room was really warm. No air con and only had restricted window opening. Room on main road side so also extremely noisy - we didn’t sleep a wink ??

The hotel is beautiful and staff are so helpful and friendly. The staff care about your service and that’s very clear to see. We loved the hotel vibe and the restaurant nearby was unbelievable food. They made us feel so comfortable on our first dog holiday and nothing was a fuss to accommodate to. My dogs actually loved her stay and loved her welcome dog treat, bed and considerations made prior to our arrival for my dogs comfort!!

Staff could have been more engaging. Very noisy in room from reception area and other guests. Cleaning staff tried to open door without knocking hours before check out time.Service for food at Fence Gate very poor, staff failed to apologise even when we complained.

Breakfast very good rooms were very comfortable and the washing facilities were top notch overall the well worth a visit and any future visits to the area this will be on the list

Couldn't find find a charging point in the bedroom or electric shaver point in the bathroom but as we were only there for one night not an issue

Met our needs perfectly. The room was very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was excellent and having the pub within a short walk was very welcome!

The room was over heated and took a long time to cool down even when the windows were open. Internet/WiFi was down or just a very poor signal for most of our stay

Made to feel really welcome by all staff. Dinner at the inn was perfect. Breakfast was really tasty , the best ingredients. Spotlessly clean. Very well presented.

Lovely hotel, lovely location and the meal at Fence Inn was great.

The young lady serving us at the Fence inn & the member of staff serving us for breakfast at the Fence lodge could just do with being more welcoming & putting a little smile on their face. Apart from that all was perfect.
