Nice location, nice room, nice breakfast
The room was cold when we arrived and it took a long time to warm up, it was the same on the second day. We thought the price we paid for the room was quite expensive.
The breakfast was excellent, staff super friendly and welcoming. The cleanliness of the room was excellent and our pet was most welcome too. The location really good for touring Exmoor. A great place to stay
Absolutely nothing.
Chosen for it’s position in the moor. Staff were particularly nice.
It’s an old building with small rooms, the beds weren’t particularly comfortable.
Excellent breakfast choice and quality. Good dinner menu, again of very good quality. Beautiful location.
Car parking a bit tight on busy nights.
The friendly atmosphere was lovely, wonderful hospitality and an exceptionally comfortable room with a lovely view.
Beautiful location. Charming country inn. Super facilities. Great breakfast. Super restaurant.
This is a beautiful place in a great location. My son and I enjoyed sitting in the sun, next to the river, drinking lager after a hard day's riding at the Dave Thorpe Honda Off-road Centre. The staff and other guests were really friendly, the food was excellent and the rooms comfortable and spotlessly clean.
The cost of drinks would probably stop me from visiting again.
Friendly staff clean gd food great location
Nothing to dislike
Breakfast was Superb with all anyone could expect. Staff were approachable and friendly. The Inn had a great ambiance and the meal menu good and well cooked and presented
There was nothing to dislike.
Everything especially the cider
Not too keen on the restaurant menu but bar was good
Location, staff and food
Food was good. Staff were pleasant. Decent bar and a pleasant setting.
Our room was very hot as it was south facing and had little air. Charged my EV there and I didn't get many miles for my money. Thought it was a bit pricey overall for what it was.
Lovely country side stay, room was comfortable and has everything you need. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good too. A lot of walks around the area with beautiful views.
Only thing is that our window opens to the car park so not much of a view.
Breakfast was fine and the location was lovely!
Staff were less than welcoming at reception and in the "pub". The "pub" is a very strange seating set-up and the food served there was POOR! When we commented to the wait staff (my wife's dinner was inedible.... a plate of lamb breast fat and gristle)......we were told the chef would be advised!!!! No apology or offer of another dish!
Location, ambience, lovely staff, comfy beds and food.
The shower
Excellent food, especially in the restaurant.
Some confusion about accuracy of billing.. Due to the age of the building it often seemed very dark, especially in the restaurant.
Great staff, food and location for hiking.
No water pressure in the shower, although pressure in the faucet worked well. Owner must have put a plug into the pipe to save water, resulting in a 15 minute hair wash. It was heavily raining and water is definitely NOT a rare source. Even walls were wet and lots of very unhealthy mold visible in our ‚superior‘ room.
The breakfasts were AMAZING! The staff are all so friendly and just lovely. The food in the bar/restaurant was really good. We had such a great experience that I'd recommend this hotel to everyone that wanted a good base for North Devon and Exmoor National Park.
The beds were a bit hard for us, however you can't please everyone's personal mattress taste!
