Room could have been bigger
Beautiful location, with lovely gardens to sit out in. Characterful property, tastefully modernised and a lovely example of a Devon mill hotel.
Liked the location as it was lovely to walk along the river after our delicious breakfast to Chagford town. Excellent food in the evening and very comfortable
Would of preferred a room that wasn’t on the top floor
Everything. Food was fantastic and the rooms. Very doggy friendly with a Boot room, treat box, doggy bed, morning doggy sausage at breakfast etc...
Nothing. .
Friendly staff
Room was small, nowhere to put cases.
Clean rooms and nice quiet, beautiful location. The staff were very attentive and friendly.
The atmosphere, location and the different rooms. Loved the fact they have a boot room.
Despite of comfort, the rooms are not as big as they advertise and perhaps no carpet would be better, specially during raining season.
The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable enough if a bit small. The en-suite bathroom was very well appointed, modern and clean. The breakfast truly was "superb". The location is outstanding.
The room had low ceilings in places but that was to be expected as it was right at the top of the building. Another time I'd book a larger room.
food was excellent, both evening meals and breakfast.Staff very friendly and Helpful. room very comfortable and facilities (shower bath very good indeed) and views great.
some decor needs updating
Quiet location excellent serviceGreat food and lovely room
The property was beautiful and in such a lovely location. Brilliant for people with dogs and the gardens were very pretty. The restaurant was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.
My grandparents room was lovely, however our room was on the middle floor with low ceilings and you could hear every single of noise from anyone around. It sounded like the people above were going to come through the ceiling. You could hear them walking, talking, their tv and dropping, moving things. Unfortunately it was the worst nights sleep my mum and I had ever had :( The bed I also slept in was so creepy every movement made such a noise as well. I spoke to the receptionist at about 11pm to see if it was possible to move to another room, but understandably the hotel was fully booked.
Comfortable and clean
I’m not a doggy person so not a fan of them when staying in hotels but it was organised extremely well so that they and owners had separate dining facilities and their own dog cleaning room. Our bedroom was a non dog room so for those with allergies that is important.
A very peaceful location in the Dartmoor countryside. The hotel is stylish, the rooms comfortable and the staff attentive and helpful. The breakfast and dinner was excellent.I cannot fault it and would definitely book again.
It was all good.
Staff were excellent, boot room for dogs was great, dining was lovely and the dogs were made very welcome.
The room was too small and a bit tired. The bed and pillows not great.
A beautifully appointed small hotel. Amazing food, lovely location and super doggie friendly
Nothing negative to report
Staff friendly, location excellent, dinner exceptionally good, amenities first class
Location. Staff. Food
Lovely big bright room. Restaurant was superb and the staff were all friendly and wanted to please.
