Pros +

  • The food at this hotel is amazing - make sure you book to have dinner.
  • Very enjoyable stay, nice friendly welcome, good Atmosphere and excellent food
  • A lovely place to stay. Really friendly helpful staff, an excellent breakfast and a very comfortable bed meant we really enjoyed our stay

Cons -

  • The room was a little dated, and the walls a bit thin! Despite this would still return for the food and the staff.
  • There was nothing I didn't like but if we were looking for improvements then I had a lovely chat with the owner about the possibility of installing an electric vehicle charger which would have made my stay perfect.
  • Decor still needs updating a bit more - some interesting choices of ornaments in the rooms. Need herbal teas and a decent coffee machine in each room.

Very clean cosy rooms, in a small village

I had a wonderful stay here. The owners are lovely people and very helpful. The room was well equipped with TV and tea making facilities. The shower was hot. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. There was a large dining area too. I would highly recommend a stay here.

A secluded and charming location just 5 minutes drive off the main road to Norwich. Plenty of parking when I stayed and very quiet. The owners are lovely and very hospitable, happy to chat and look after your every need. The restaurant serves a huge range of dishes and the one I chose was beautifully prepared and looed amazing. The full English breakfast was hearty (too much for me to eat - sorry) and cooked to perfection. The room was comfortable and a good temperature, the shower room small but acceptable.

There was nothing I didn't like but if we were looking for improvements then I had a lovely chat with the owner about the possibility of installing an electric vehicle charger which would have made my stay perfect.

Gardens are lovely and the staff were very accommodating.

Decor still needs updating a bit more - some interesting choices of ornaments in the rooms. Need herbal teas and a decent coffee machine in each room.

Food was excellent and Mark was very friendly, attentive and helpful. I particularly appreciated it when he informed us of a short wait for service, much better than being left in the dark. Not that we waited long anyway. We had the suite which was a large room with seating - very comfortable.

If you are looking for a quiet stay close to Norwich but not in Norwich then this is ideal. We decided to eat in the restaurant instead of heading into Norwich and that was the best decision. An unexpected extensive menu. We were blown away by the food. It was delicious. The room was clean and the en suite small but perfectly functional. Good value stay.

Would have liked a breakfast menu but that said we were late down one morning and Mark offered tea/coffee and toast which was perfect.

Ample parking, friendly welcome, clean, good food.

Small ensuite

Very welcoming and helpful staff, comfortable bed, very good breakfast. Also the menu has an unusual mix of choices and the thai/Asian options are excellent.Local real ale was spot on in terms of freshness and was delicious.

Instant coffee and uht milk in rooms. It's not uncommon but I think because other things are so good here that this is incongruous with the overall offering.

Very friendly owners. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast was good. The outside of the property was also beautiful.

The food was lovely, we had an evening meal and breakfast. Both were excellent, the evening meal was full of flavour and the breakfast was generous and set us up for the day. Our room was comfortable and full of character, we very much enjoyed our stay and would definatley stay again.

Nice owners and lovely place! Cute and cozy room with a very comfy bed. Recommend the breakfast! The chef was able to make a great vegetarian breakfast. (Maybe a bit of a big portion for the dutchies). Restaurant has great food for dinner too, highly recommend the pastries!!!

Maybe some small maintenance

The inn was full of quirkiness and character. The current owners are working hard to create a stylish and interesting environment, but work is still to be done. Interesting food options were presented for our evening meal; what we ordered was good quality and well presented and the 2 chefs worked really well. The hosting team, including the owner’ went the extra mile for everyone. We would love to go back in another 12months to see the progress in this relatively new environment.

Our room was clean and tidy, bedding seemed to be of good quality. However, there is work to be done on the facilities as they were old and not in best order, but I feel the new owners are aware , but have quite a list of ‘round tuits’.The hospitality was wonderful, but more time is needed to build the facility to where it deserves to be.

Beautiful hotel with a wonderful beer garden. Host was helpful and attentive to our needs. Food was great and lots of variety.

Beautiful refurbished old pub 5 minutes drive from Barnham Broom. Wonderful cooked breakfast in the garden.Quiet and calm stay, and friendly welcome. All bedrooms en-suite.Would recommend if you are attending an event at Barnham Broom but want a unique stay!

8DeanPosted on: 7-23-2024

The staff were very friendly and courteous. The room and pub/restaurant were clean and tidy, though maybe a little dated. Staying for 3 nights we ate in the restaurant every night and the food was excellent, as was the English breakfast. The location was ideal for our purpose with a good sized car park.

We stayed in room 1 and the bed was awful. It was so soft it almost folded on you as you sat on it.

8PaulaPosted on: 7-21-2024

It is a lovely pub, the room was very comfortable and welcoming. The owner was very attentive without being overbearing. The evening meal we had was delicious as was the full English breakfast.

This was a last minute booking for us and needed to be in the locality for us to attend an event. For this purpose the location was perfect and in such a lovely rural setting but still very accessible. The host Mark, was extremely friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was amazing, Thanks to Rose the executive chief.

The staff literally read of our booking minutes before we arrived and did not have a room ready. The room we were allocated was adequate clean and quiet. However, next time we would prefer a different room maybe one with a larger shower.
