Pros +
- Beautiful, historic location; an experience just to stay there and explore the grounds.
- I arrived a bit early but was welcomed with a coffee while I waited. Evening meal was very good.
- Loved the food, loved the yard and property
Cons -
- We killed 5 spiders on the ceiling (2 were large). Bed was lumpy and uncomfortable.
- The stairs were hard to bring our luggage up and down from the parking lot
- On the full breakfast, I felt sausages let it down, tasted cheap, they were ok, but nothing more , there is excellent butchers in Shetland who would have better sausages.

Location and the historic home were top notch. The service and attentiveness were excellent. The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was boutique modern. The restaurant dinner was very good and the breakfast was excellent.
Busta is a lovely quaint hotel in Shetland. The staff were lovely and accommodating, the bed was super comfortable and the sheets super soft. The loo was super clean too. Breakfast was included and for a small hotel in mainland Shetland I could not have asked for more. The main lounge was a treat for a bit of silent reading.
Hadn't stayed for a while at busta, felt it had gone down hill a bit, but what a difference, was excellent, food was delicious.

Large and comfortable bed, beautiful rooms. Staff were all lovely and attentive, allowed us to check in early. Excellent and varied breakfast and evening meals. Couldn't recommend more. Maybe not the best place for anyone with mobility issues however, as the bathroom is very small and getting into the bath/shower requires stepping over/around the toilet.
Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and had the best nights sleep.
Nothing as it was up to standard.
It was atmospheric, the room was lovely. We had a family room although we were just a couple, it was really nice though. The Long Room is a very nice place to have a drink before and/or after your meal, it would have been nicer if the fire had been on.The breakfast was amazing, the evening meal was fine I have eaten here before though and the evening meal was much better on that occasion. The staff, although young, were lovely and attentive, very polite.
Lovely renovation. Super breakfast and comfortable bedding. The staff were friendly and attentive. Every time we come, we see an improvement and we think the staff are doing a wonderful job.
Breakfast was superb - especially the porridge and the smoked haddock with poached eggs. Lovely lounge area. Welcoming, friendly staff.
The grounds really need some attention. Although our room had a sea view it was very limited due to the trees having been allowed to grow without pruning. It would be a glorious garden but it seems that there aren’t sufficient funds for maintenance.
Very comfortable hotel, great lounge, lots of interesting features. Beautiful location
Peaceful quiet location. Friendly staff. Great food
Larger ensuite
Good hotel with friendly staff and good food and good room
Slow wifi and confusing TV set up (we didn't need it)
We stayed 3 nights and it was a lovely stay. Staff were excellent, the food was absolutely lovely, the breakfast was great and so was the dinner, the room was comfortable, all was good.
Perhaps a greater selection of local brewed beers on tap in the bar to choose from, otherwise, everything was great.
Quite location and upper market finishing. Exquisite food. Old England type library and sitting room
I like everything
Staff welcomed us for a very late arrival and put together soup and sandwiches for us! Absolutely lovely people!
It was perfect.
Busta House is full of history and character set at a wonderful location on beautiful Shetland. As a mix of old and new it still maintains a welcoming warmth and charm and since it's an old house, a good dose of fun quirkiness. We unfortunately booked one of the last remaining rooms; it did not come with a view and was on the small side, but still comfortable for our short two night stay. The wait staff and food (both dinner and breakfast) were just awesome. We loved all our meals and drinks. I tried all the fish dishes and all were fresh and wonderful. Busta House is a very special and unique place that I look forward to visiting again in the future.
The property had real character and history and was comfortable - we especially liked sitting in the long room. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was excellent.
A lovely property with a great team who made us so welcome. Great meals, comfortable room making our stay on Shetland perfect
