About
Formerly an 18th-century manor house, Les Douvres Hotel offers scenic gardens and a heated outdoor pool in the summer. Located in the south-east corner of Guernsey, the property also offers an on-site restaurant with a seasonal menu. Each guest room comes with a mix of modern and antique furnishings, as well as free WiFi, a flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Guests can enjoy dishes made from local produce in the restaurant, as well as an extensive beer and wine list. Private dining options are also on offer. Staff can arrange a variety of activities including bicycle hire, golf, tennis and water sports. Live music is held on the premises every Friday and showcases the best of local talent. St Peter Port, the capital of Guernsey is just a 10-minute drive away and a regular bus route into the town passes directly by the hotel. The south coast cliff paths offer picturesque walks and can be reached in a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Pros +
- Great location and great food staff are very nice and friendly
- Loved the stay! A great bar and restaurant and the rooms were perfect for a cozy stay.
- This was our 4th stay at Les Douvres Hotel and itwas just as perfect as our previous stays. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and accommodating and the restaurant delicious (and very popular). This hotel is great value for money and I’d recommend it to anyone without hesitation. Thank you everyone at Les Douvres.
Cons -
- The room (1) we were in was quite tired with an old stained carpet; we wondered if it was a “dog friendly” room. The shower also leaked. As breakfast wasn’t included in the price we would probably stay in La Barbarie on any future trips as it would have worked out cheaper.
- Can't think of anything
- The shower was a strange set up, so temperature control was a bit tricky

We had a nice superior room although the sound travelled through the ceiling , above us were two boys who you could hear walking about and talking . This was until midnight.
The communal areas were lovely and very nicely decorated. The food was also excellent and the staff very helpful.

The ambiance, staff and food was all very good. The rooms were clean and comfortable. A
Front facing room upstairs was delightful - larger than the average, lots of windows, bright & welcoming. The pub downstairs serves tremendous meals (proper vegetables!) & staff all super friendly. Great local feel to the bar which welcomes dogs also.
Nice hotel close to where I wanted to be - staff were helpful and attentive - breakfast was good
Can't think of anything
Loved the friendly staff and the comfort of the room

We enjoyed the breakfast. Service good. TV did not work. Picture pixilating a lot. It was attended to but still did not workOut evening meal was excellent
We were very happy. Thank you
Such a lovely friendly hotel with an excellent restaurant. Couldn't fault anything.Close enough to all parts of island, waring turn and in 5 mins on opposite coast! Loved my trip, and also my trip to Herm.
Without my satnav would have struggled to find, due to one-way system. Also although near coast the beaches are small and rocky. Very pretty but quite a hike up the hill.
Lovely traditional hotel. Beautiful stylish decor. Friendly and helpful staff. Tasty menu in the restaurant but a bit repetitive.
Breakfast. Rather predictable usual offerings. Not great. We had breakfast out after our first morning.
The pizza was lovely.
When eating in the restaurant, we spent alot of time batting off the flies.Room was small and edge of bath had swollen due to water ingress. Sink cracked. Bed was small and uncomfortable plus bedroom small.Mirror light in bathroom didn't work.Thought it was expensive especially considering the breakfast wasn't included so had to add on £12.50 per day per person so an extra £100 over 4 days.
Very nice rooms and great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant and hotel in a very nice part of Guernsey. Meals and breakfast very good. All staff were very friendly almost felt like home after 2 weeks and they knew I liked maple syrup waffles and Camden beer.
When we first arrived the bus going past had been cancelled until further notice, so was a bit of walk to nearest bus stop to get into St Peter Port and the beaches in west but as it turned out cancellation only for a few days.
Lovely room although it was terribly hot!
The shower was a little awkward to get in and out of for my 80 year old mum, my fault really. I should have asked to change rooms but didn’t.
The building itself was beautiful. Tasteful and calming decor, very aesthetically pleasing. The restaurant was good. Food wise; we had one lovely meal, and one not so good. The room was immaculately clean. The location of the property was peaceful and idyllic, easy to catch a bus.
We paid extra for a third person in our room however, we had to ask for extra towels, toilet roll, a mug and consumables. The staff in the restaurant and hotel were sarcastically ‘nice’ but, entirely unhelpful. The icing on the cake was, on the second night, the hotel held a birthday party in the function room, directly below our bedroom, and dozens of other bedrooms. The noise was incredible; from 6pm until almost midnight, we had to endure extremely loud music, the bass of which was literally shaking our room. There were party-goers shouting, swearing and smoking, directly below our balcony doors. It felt like we in a goldfish bowl on top of an amplifier, unable to even open a window.I went down to reception twice, and politely asked how long the noise would go on. I was twice told, it wouldn’t be much longer. This was not true. When the music eventually went off, the sound of the party goers leaving continued for another 45 minutes. We paid a luxury price to stay at, what felt like, a hostel.
Good location, friendly staff.
Tiny double bed, very soft and uncomfortable. My husband and I didn't sleep at all.
It was quirky and cosy so nice to have a less formal hotel with atmosphere
It is very popular due to the food being so good so I found it very noisy at times in the evening it would have been nice if there were a few quiet areas for residents to enjoy a quiet evening meal
Lovely property set in nice surroundings in St. Martins. Bus stop outside that takes you into St. Peter Port. Friendly helpful staff.
Warm welcome, great staff, lovely room, comfy bed. Fab breakfast, lots of parking. Highly recommended! Proper country house feel.
Bit noisy from room above and next door 1st night. 2nd night fine.
