- Warmly welcomed by friendly staff, excellent location, great breakfast choices. Everything was perfect!
- The staff were very friendly, great location, breakfast good - fab stay
- Breakfast was good. Dining room has a view over the harbour. Room was carefully serviced every day. Fresh milk was provided for hot drinks in room. Cookies were also provided.
Cons -
- Our room was up 4 different flights of stairs - so taking the luggage quite a long way.
- There were stairs up to ensuite bathroom. Could not really be avoided due to design of hotel on hill.
- everything was great. WE especially enjoyed some time in the conservatory. A very beautiful room.

breakfast was excellent. It was available a little earlier than 8 and that was great.
everything was great. WE especially enjoyed some time in the conservatory. A very beautiful room.
I really liked the friendly staff and the food was excellent. The hotel room was very comfortable. Brilliant breakfast!
The bathroom was nice but there seemed to be a slight draught coming from it.
Good and hearty choice for breakfast............didn't like the haddock though....preferred to have kippers on offerExcellent location
lots of steps...............
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There was a nice relaxed feel about the hotel, and it was good to have areas to sit downstairs.
We didn't like the early checkout, especially as the boat didn't said until 4.30. Also the hotel was hosting a private group after our stay which meant we didn't feel welcome to use the hotel on that last day.
What should have been a special 60th Birthday experience for my Wife was instead- Expensive disappointing experience and
Our First room was above the commercial kitchen with the Industrial Extraction System attached to our bathroom wall. The noise level was disturbing for me - the smells within the Bathroom emanating from the extraction system from kitchen below was very unpleasant and disappointing. We were given the only other Sea -view room available the following day - the room was right next door to the first room. The kitchen Extractor/ industrial fridge was still a problem with noise but a little more bearable considering there were no other options given.
Beautiful hotel with lovely views and a perfect terrace overlooking the sea. The food was wonderful and the lounge really welcoming and comfortable.
Location
I would have preferred more choice on breakfast for example omelette or scrambled egg on toast But overall still good cooked food
Location, breakfast and staff were fabulous
Rooms were a bit small but we did not spend much time in them
A very well managed and located manor-type hotel, with comfortable rooms, a pleasant lounge and conservatory,a most inviting terrace and bar, and excellent breakfast and a tasty « bistronomical » restaurant, with a pleasant wine menu.A smart luggage management system, insures your bags have a straight between your room and your boat or air travel.
The breakfast management timing was a bit stiff: you need to let them know on the evening beforehand of your breakfast time… kills the morning initiative… and sadly, after having missed the full regalia breakfast, no « light » initiative (tea or coffee, a pastry, a joghurt - nothing fancy) was offered and we felt left to « rot ».Also, spontaneously approaching the restaurant at 8:20 PM for a table for two… we were told that the kitchen was closed; we found solace a couple of yards further down towards the village, yet we’re saddened- considering the quality of the cuisine - that no « last minute » option was available.
Clean, comfortable, like a fridge in your room
Expensive meals, and having to book at table in the evening, therefore I didn't eat at the hotel
The staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially with our Gluten Free breakfasts. Room was cleaned promptly. Very helpful with the booking the boat trips. Really enjoyed our stay.
We would have liked to have ventilation when using the shower - window would not open and no extraction fan. Toilet seat not fitted very well. We got round it but may be an issue for other guests.
Very comfortable twin room overlooking the harbour ( Room 2)
It location minutes from the quay and centre of Hugh Town. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished and was clean and comfortable. There were sone lovely lounge areas and a patio with views out over the harbour and water. The staff were all really helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.
Location beautiful. Staff fabulous
Room quite small
Location, clean, nice dining area
Limited time for breakfast not convenient for early excursions (no cooked menu available, limited continental prior to 0800)
The breakfast was superb; as a vegetarian, I was very impressed with the selection of hot food variations on offer through the menu.
Nothing really, a phone in the room to call reception would have been handy especially when we had a problem with the key card.
Plenty of choices for breakfast so very happy with that. The location was excellent, being close to the quay for the ferry and boat trips.
We weren't able to do everything while we were there but that was due to boats being cancelled during wet , stormy days. However that was not the fault of the hotel!!! The bar drinks and meals were expensive but not just at this hotel.
