Pros +
- A beautiful room and very friendly staff.

- Lovely cosy rooms, comfortable beds and pillows.tra making facilities. Lovely staff. Good breakfast. Exactly what it sets out to do and it delivers. Thank you.
Cons -
- The shower was somewhat problematic. Both myself and my partner are 6ft tall. The shower was sited at an angle on the wall because of the sloped ceiling. It was impossible to stand upright in the shower ( climb into a bath tub). You had to lean your head to one side to be able to shower.
- Room 5 could do with a refresh. Cooking in the kitchen for the evening meals was a bit hit and miss. For £125 a night, I'd expect a slightly higher standard in the room.

We had a lovely stay. The pub is so cosy and served great drinks and food, and the room had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable.
Lovely old pub, very cosy
The room was a touch small
Great location, lovely staff, nice evening meal, good breakfast.
We booked a large double room, however we were in a small room, with a very low ceiling, unable to stand up straight in any part of the room, or in the bathroom, and directly above the bar, so very, very noisy.
The old pub hotel was beautiful and set in a lovely village a short walk from the beach. Staff were super helpful and friendly
Nothing...it was a perfect stay
Friendly staff and good evening meal and breakfast
The room might have been cleaner. There ws an unemptied litter bin in the bathroom wiyth beer cans in it.
The staff were warm, friendly and accommodating; the rooms and beds comfortable and the general ambience and location of the pub excellent. We will definitely stay again. We were fed and looked after very well.
Lovely period hotel full of character. Great room and food. Staff very friendly and helpful.
We were room only during our stay but enjoyed eating in the restaurant each evening.
Very friendly staff, wonderful location, beautiful building
Nothing! You can't do much about the low ceilings, although the fire alarm could have been better located!
Beautiful location. Our room had a wonderful view, looking out towards Southwold. Gardens were lovely. Evening meal quality was fantastic! A lovely atmosphere all round.
As guests/residents, it would have been nice not to have to order from the bar for our main meal. In the bathroom, shower could do with a freshen up.
Lovely location, comfortable room and great food.
The pub was very quaint. Lots of little snug areas. The room we stayed in was lovely! Very clean and had everything you needed. Loved the soft white towels! Food was very good! Especially the breakfast. Good selection and cooked fresh! So nice and hot.
There wasn’t anything about the property we didn’t like! If we were to say anything, then maybe the approach road to the car park could have been better if it was resurfaced, as there were lots of holes/puddles.
Staff were outstanding. Nice, cosy pub with great food. Location excellent, especially with the boat across to Southwold side. Parking onsite. Very close to beach. Great beer garden.
Just needed a minibar and safe in the room and it would’ve been 10/10
Friendly staff lovely decor room
Ground d floor room, woman Alone, people playing boules outside my winDow 7.30pm!Requested staff to ask them to move away as were drinking and loud…Then one of the men came right up to window stared in twice! Intimating me I’m 68!Very worried and reported to Tom at the bar.Terrible behaviour. Tom said he would discount the room, but realised I’d pain by booking.com!Please pass a discount on to me asap.I would never stay in that ground floor room again as backs out to a secluded area, open to people abusing it.Thanks you
Lovely characterful pub, great food, friendly staff.
Breakfast is quite late between 9-10. I had to leave by 8 so nothing available.
Picture postcard location a short distance to the passenger ferry towards Southwold, the beach and a few shops. We had room 3, low ceiling with beams a large window and a lovely view towards the river, very comfortable bed Good breakfast cooked to order. Great pub lots of cosy corners...Easy flat walking for miles beside the river Blythe. You can cross where there was once a railway bridge if you wish.
It didn't bother us much but there was some black mould in the shower and the bathroom window had clear glass next to a walkway so that we had to keep the blind lowered. Remember it is an old building.
