Cons -
- not a fan of buffet breakfasts but seemed to be good and enjoyed by others
- The bathroom was poorly renovated the decorative was poor and I couldn’t get a shower because the shower rail was broken
- Cooked breakfast poor. Nothing like the photos, however, good selection of fruits, yogurts and pastries. The building is quite old with very thin walls so can be quite noisy. Bed not comfortable.

Looks lovely. Room clean and enough space. Staff very friendly, especially Kyle on reception. Very good location, nice walk into the town centre.

Nice hotel, had a nice meal. Staff were able to accommodate a large group of us in the restaurant
Rooms were a little small
convenient to the motorway, very good value, friendly staff lovely walking/running paths along the river nearby
there was a little bump in the carpeted corridor floor that I tripped over twice
It was lovely & clean, friendly staff
The view from our room
The breakfast was excellent especially the Cumbrian sausage. We also had dinner there, which was also surprisingly good, but a little expensive. Staff at bar and front desk were great. It had parking.
Shower was very lacking in water pressure and took several minutes to heat up. Room was difficult to cool. There were lots of steps to get the room (no lift).
Good breakfast.
Bed was uncomfortable, mattress not entirely flat.Dinner quality disappointing for the price.
The rooms are very clean and the staff were very friendly and polite.
The food menu in the restaurant is very limited. The shower was just a trickle, and the bed is in need of a new mattress.
Room was clean & comfortableDinner was great
No liftBathroom a bit dated
A great location with the large car park.
Window didn’t open very wide, so ventilation was a bit of an issue.
Great location, secure car park, rooms newly painted. Lovely breakfast (cooked and continental help yourself)
The curtains were 4inch to small they didn’t reach the window cill so let a lot of light in, but it did have bets behind for privacy
Nice looking hotel, great location, friendly staff, good breakfast and service. Generally good facilities.
The specific room we stayed in looked a bit dated- only one electrical socket worked (not handy when charging lots of items), the bath taps were really stiff, and the plastic chair made the room look tacky. Also the bathroom was small and using the toilet meant your knees were rammed up against the radiator, so not ideal or comfortable. Otherwise it was clean and pleasant. It sufficed, but for the price should have been better. Also, there was no lift which may be a problem for some guests.
Happily accommodated my touring bicycle. Staff were wonderful and welcoming. Hotel is spotless. Room was clean and comfortable and, on the non-road side, quiet. A really nice hotel on LEJOG. Many thanks.Michael Himes
good location, convenient for a tour on Hadrian’s wall
everything looks a bit dated and not very well kept
Staff very friendly and helpful as my mobility isn't good at the moment..Breakfast and dinner very good and plentiful and catered for gluten free
Would have been good to have a walk in shower and grab rails .. didn't shower but managed the rest
The staff were lovely and worked very hard
It was dated and the bed wasn’t comfortable. There was no where to comfortably relax or side or out.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly throughout, especially when I was delayed due to Storm Floris. Lovely hotel, good facilities, breakfast had a good range and it was very convenient for where I needed to be.
All great.
I had a single room and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The room had a fan and a tub.
I expected a mini fridge to be in the room.
