Pros +
- The location is the best thing about this hotel, right where a number of trails lead up into the Cuillin mountains.
- Location and breakfast were great
- The hotel is in a great location to easily access the fairy pools, Talisker, Portree, etc.
Cons -
- The rooms and furnishings are tired and dreary, there was one small window in the room (thought it did look out onto the mountains). The staff occasionally did try to accomodate and help, but they too seemed worn, and weary of tourists.
- The water in the bathroom was slightly brown
- This place needs a complete renovation. The photos DO NOT match the actual experience. Mold, dust, peeling wallpaper, etc. The heat was not on during our first night and we were freezing. Extremely thin walls and floors — we heard multiple guests coughing and walking around throughout the night. We did not unpack and overheard other guests at breakfast saying the same.

I loved this place, the staff were amazing and really friendly, and accommodating. The room was nice, clean and had great views.
The only thing I have to complain about were the noisy people above us, the staff had words with them and then so did we.
Breakfast was good.
Traditional bar area at heart of hotel was closed..Evening meal in barn area off the local bar was limited (some choices not available) and muzak was not necessary and excessive volume.Needs more inviting hospitality, improved local food offer not just urban fast food. Bedroom smaller than expected.
Nice position, very hot and well pressured running water. Breakfast was okay.
Really needs to perform a better cleaning, but really!
I loved this traditional inn with old world charm, a beautiful location, and exceptional breakfast. This was a great stop of my trip.

Passable
You'd be lucky to find a room as good as the photos; for €100 per night, you expect something more.As soon as I entered the room, I found a musty smell and the carpet in front of the bathroom door was very wet. This was due to work being done that day due to a leak. The staff's kindness wasn't enough to solve the problem, as I wasn't given a different room (as it wasn't available) or a discount.
We loved everything about this hotel. The location is ideal for exploring Skye. You can walk out the door and start hiking. Drive to the right and you're headed toward Talisker and Fairy Pools. To the left, Portree, Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock, Dunvegan Castle, and the Quirang. The hotel is perfect. Beautiful, practical rooms with comfortable beds, a nice closet, and plenty of light. The bathroom has an amazing shower and, the rarest of all Scottish unicorns...washcloths! Towels are huge and water pressure is terrific. Parking is free. Breakfast was included with our rate, and it is delicious! Lots of choices from full Scottish to avocado toast. The restaurant next door, Seumas's, is also a bar. Food is pretty great and the service is excellent. Lots of beers and whiskies, too.Shout out to Marion who made our stay especially wonderful. She is a gem of a human.
I loved everything!
Loved the view and the property itself. Breakfast was great! Restaurant next door was very good as well.
The room itself was a little outdated. Rusty water came out of spigot of tub. Tub was too small to fully extend legs.
We loved the breakfast, the friendly staff and people we interacted with. We also loved how spacious the room was!
We didn't like the spotty wifi and that the pull out couch was really on the floor. Made it difficult to get in and out of. But everything else was fabulous.
David the bartender was exceptional and really made the stay.
Dated, loss of fine dining option.
It was quaint but clean with updated bathrooms. The staff were wonderful - the breakfast great. A good location not too far from everything - loved it
Location excellent. Friendly welcoming staff who were very helpful. Comfortable bed in lovely room. Great bathroom facilities.
Location, bathroom, breakfast
Price, bedroom layout, dinner at hotel restaurant was not great and had to wait almost 45 minutes for our main course to arrive.
Majestic location, luxurious room, great staff, good pub food and well equipped bar. Lots of know how with whiskey.
No complaints
The bed is very comfortable and large enough for 3 adults. The view outside the hotel is excellent. The breakfast is excellent.
The is quite difficult to move large luggage to the room by using the staircases only.
The hotel is in a great location to easily access the fairy pools, Talisker, Portree, etc.
