The Raven Hotel

I generally always stay here when I visit .The staff are always kind and friendly , it’s handy for me and it’s safe and comfortable .

Nice early check in from 12 midday, staff were friendly and welcoming.Comfy bed, slept well.Continental breakfast in the morning, good selection.

Room decor is so-so...felt like I was in student accommodation...1 bed had a headrest, the other did not, walls were patchy decor, bedside tables were old. Heater in room did not work, not sure if it was regulated to the outside temperature, but basically it never gave out any heat (room 109). Bathroom sink cold tap could not be turned off, and trickled water constantly (such a waste!) plus the toilet seemed to take 15 minutes to fill up. Shower was not great, husband showered, I didn't bother. Feel like this hotel is more geared up to contractors....don't bother booking a weekend break here!

Would have liked a fully cooked breakfast vice the continental breakfast

The breakfast was ok

Rooms very dated , shared shower was shocking trickled out and my work mates had bites on there legs out of the beds the rooms are very old .

We wanted somewhere reasonably priced to stay as we were passing through, it met all of our expectations and was as described. Beds were a lot more comfortable than we would have expected and we had a great night sleep which was a bonus

Room tired and in need of refurbishment. Asked for extra pillows but there weren't any. Floor slippy in shower and no bath mat. Not good value for money.

Bad

It smelled of smoke as soon as you enter, the room door locks weren’t secure. It overall felt unsafe and unclean, we ended up leaving and booking somewhere else.

Breakfast was ok. Was looking forward to a full english but was continental.

Had to share a bathroom.

Room smelt ABIT moist funny smell had to sleep with window open

Windows let’s in all the noise and shabby . Shower poor, couldn’t remove the head and was hardly coming out with water

Good parking. Easy access with a key fob late at night as we didn't come back until after 1am Very nice staff

No shower gel or shampoo ?? in the bathroom. The flattest pillows l have ever seen .Asked for an extra pillow each, which was provided ( thank you) ....but had we not gone to our room first we would not have been to get the extra pillows or known to buy shower gel Had those been our pillows in the first place, they would have been adequate..Very dated bathroom. A very high step up and down from the shower cubicle ( lovely size though) had to lean on the sink to step down .There is very little water pressure in the shower

The room was decent clean.

The windows was blowing through the old windows. Part of the wooden frames was rotten. The upstairs room was not same quality as downstairs room. A bit dissapointed as is the third time staying at this hotel and the same kind of the room booked , but lower quality. The desk was put in the corner with no natural or artificial light . The ceiling light was only one and was by the window. A bit old and very used.

We ate at hotel in the evening. Food was good. Waitresses were polite and pleasant. Bedding clean.

Room smelt a bit stale. Breakfast was continental and just out in the open. Staff were hoovering in eating area whilst we were having breakfast. Couldn’t get basic tv channels on tv in room. Water only warm in bathroom.

Lovly atmosphere and great food and won the raffle

Lack of pillows in room and tea wasn't changed 2nd day also unable to pay cash was a burden small towels in bathroom

Piss thin mattress, could feel the bed frame through it. And couldn't get a hot shower until 4 o'clock in the day until another member of staff came in. Room was really dusty.

That the bed room was beautiful. Friendly staff .

We were told Breakfast was included disappointed.it wasn't a full English. Curtain was hanging off the rail ,my daughter is disabled so a seat would be great and also if the shower itself could actually came off the wall so easier to use. Should also say no lifts in add .why a big difference in price from a shared bathroom to a on suite .

The room was warm and large, great space for parking cars and large vans

Sink in our room absolutely stink. Couldn’t run the water had to put a towel over the plug hole as smell was so bad..
