Pros +
- Great location, friendly staff and amazing facilities in the chalet
- The chalet was lovely, comfortable, clean. The position of them fantastic, right beside the beautiful lake. Watched the wildlife, fishermen on boats all from the dining table. Outside sauna, swings, seating areas, kids play areas, etc Will definitely be back soon. Perfect break to just relax. Loved it.
- Amazing location. Beautiful house. V clean. Lovely staff
Cons -
- That we had only booked for 2 nights
- Ideally another bathroom but not a problem
- My daughter couldn't get the DVD player to work on Sunday night so my granddaughter was disappointed that she couldn't watch the Little Miss Sunshine DVD but we actually found it funny that both my daughters & myself hadn't actually watched DVDs for about 15 years !

We visited here for the new year. The cabin was warm and clean. Enough space for 4 to be comfortable. The view onto the lake was beautiful. It helped us slow down our hectic life. The shower was out of this world. Staff were friendly and kind.
Had an absolutely brilliant stay - the chalets are really comfortable and cosy, and had everything we needed. The view on to the lake is amazing! The staff were lovely. Dinner at Nick’s (twice) was incredible and such a treat - so great to just be able to walk over to this gorgeous restaurant from the chalets. Fab to have games room available too. Loved it all and keen to come back!
We liked the location of our cabin. The park was opposite for my granddaughter & the water was close enough to feel you were right beside it sitting looking out the patio with a morning coffee. It was peaceful morning & night & we all felt content just chilling in the cabin after a walk or drive around the area. I loved playing the table tennis in the games room which is something I haven't done for more than 40 years ! We had the Sunday Roast at Nick's & it was delicious.

Well equipped, clean and on lakeside. Parking good and plenty to do.
Bedroom a bit small.
Liked Everything.about Lochend!Stunning location.Cosy, clean chalet And a great restaurant for Sunday roasts!
Can't think of anything.
We were expecting it to be more rustic but were v pleasantly surprised at how well modern and clean the cabins felt. The kitchen was very well equipped. Beautiful views of the lake, it felt incredibly peaceful with just the sound of the ducks and heron. Our boys loved the games room and playing with the outdoor chess set. Lovely dinner had at Nicks cookery school. Didn’t get to use the sauna but a great touch, especially since you can swim in the lake.
Small things but the hot water wasn’t super consistent (essential after a dip in the lake!) and the double bed was quite small. Otherwise a wonderful stay - We’ll be back!
Views from chalet and shoreline....a little hidden gem,1st time here, sure I'll introduce rest of family soon.surrounding area beautiful
Can't think of anything really that we didn't like....was only here for 4 days with my sis-in-law,tried to do as much as we were fit for on our short stay, which was a fair bit.
The view the service the manager
Need walking area
Beautiful location. Near to the festival we were attending. Within reach of other lovely places to see. Well equipped, spotlessly clean.
Very nice and compftable cabins. Vell equiped kitchen. The cabins have a fantastic view to the Lake and the mountains behind.
Double beds were quite small. To many pillows which were not compftable.
Stunning views. The friendliest of staff & fab accommodation. Loved it !
Not a dislike but, it would be great if there was an upgrade to smart tv to allow access to Netflix etc.
Beautiful log cabin set around Scotland’s only Lake of Menteith. Everything was exceptional from cleanliness to facilities and location for further exploration of Scotland.Stirling is around 25 minutes drive away and you are able to do a big shop as the cabins are self catering. The closest shops are in Aberfoyle where souvenir shops and restaurants were to be found.Stirling Castle, the Trossachs Trail, the Blair Drummond Safari Park, Birds of Prey Centre and surrounding areas of Inchmahome Island are all within 20-30 minutes drive.Nick Nairns Cooking School is open from Wednesday-Sunday and seems like a good local choice. For take away options, Callander has pizza, Indian and fast food options.Edinburgh and Glasgow are both an hour’s drive away and are worth exploring if desired. However it’s the location of the Port of Menteith, with its beautiful setting on the lake, far from the madding crowds is a beautiful place to rest, reflect and recover. The quality of our family break was superb, nothing was too much trouble for the kind folk who run the place. The beds were comfy, kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook and dine with, recycling and the use of environmentally friendly products were particularly good to see as well as the emphasis on recycling. The Games room provided us with entertainment such as pool, table tennis and DVDs. Other facilities included a sauna by the lake, tennis court and access to outdoor pursuits like swimming, fishing and canoeing. There is much to explore nearby too, the lush settings and facilities are so relaxing and we hope to return soon.
There isn’t much to fault at all but perhaps a bathroom mirror which shorter people and children can use could be put up easily alongside the other one.
The location The wildlife
The bed sizeThe fridge is tiny and the milk shelf didn't exist so milk took lots of space in a tiny fridge. Freezer did not keep things frozen
The most amazing place we could've been in! Fantastic views, peace and quiet, lovely nature right on our porch, cosy house, and friendly stuff. We couldn't ask for more, the most perfect stay ❤️
Everything. The location is great. It was so peaceful. You could really relax. The accommodation had everything you needed and the staff were super helpful.
The location is unbelievably serene and idyllic. Beautiful sunsets, great restaurant, friendly staff, well facilitated.
The views of the lake were stunning, the air was so fresh and the location was very peaceful. The chalet was very comfortable and very well equipped. We loved the wild birds and also the ducks kept us very amused. We were lucky enough to see ospreys from the patio. The view of the lake from the bedroom was second to none. Downstairs bathroom is really luxurious.
The bedroom overlooking the lake had very steeply sloping ceilings which can't be helped because of the chalet design, but we couldn't stand upright, also the upstairs shower room was really lacking in space, it would have been better as a loo and sink only. the 2 single beds are better suited to children, our group of 6 were all adults.
