peacefulness of the dining room in the morning overlooking the rolling hills and watching the rabbits play in the yard. And probably the best porridge i ever had :)

They charge for a cappuchino or latte as "extra" for breakfast. was the coffee machine that expensive to purchase?! this kind of penny pinching after what the room costs is off putting.

Beautiful views, great spa & food. Staff were really friendly & helpful.

The door of the next door bedroom banged shut really hard and was a bit of a disturbance. Soft close doors would be good. The walls were thin so you could hear the people in the next door bedroom so some sound proofing would be good.Could have more cooked vegan breakfast options such as avocado on toast and also vegan croissant

The room was spacious and well equipment with lots of added extras which was much appreciated. Beds were very comfortable and all staff were lovely. We had an evening meal at the hotel which was delicious. There was also plenty of choice at breakfast.

The staff were very helpful, pleasant and polite. The food was really good, the room were very clean and comfortable with a very comfortable bed. And to top it I had a lovely massage. It was a great way to spend a birthday ?

There was nothing that we didn’t like

Peaceful surroundings, reminded us of our nans house (In a good way), service was impeccable, really friendly and helpful, very relaxing. I can’t fault the place in anything, was perfect.

Lovely staff, lovely hotel, good food.

We were put into a shabby room with damp running down the wall, doggy dirty carpet that smelled and was very marked.We live in a beautiful home with our very clean tiny Chihuahua dog. Can you imagine going to a hotel to celebrate your husbands birthday. It was my gift to him. The room was depressing. Beds could be improved. The rest of the hotel was nice, but having to pay so much for one night in a shabby awful room was disgusting. His birthday was ruined. We were so looking forward to this break and would have returned again and again, but not to be put into a room like that.

Nice peaceful location. Decent spa facilities with pool, jacuzzi, small steam room and small sauna. Comfortable and pleasant dining and bar areas. Nice grounds too. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Bedroom was small for the money. I would have expected much more space.

The hotel felt very homely and relaxed. The staff were friendly and the rooms were comfortable and very clean. The spa was great and was nice and quiet. The view to Haytor from the dining room was lovely.

The food was nicely presented but lacked flavour.

Staff were excellent in all departments. Facilities are really good making for a relaxing stay. Room comfortable and well equipped.

Really picky, but a few pieces of kit did not work in the jacuzzi.

Very friendly staff and excellent location for exploring Dartmoor and food was exceptional:)

Only downside was room we stayed in not much soundproofing and quite loud when people closed doors.

Bed wasn't the most comfortable. The restaurant was fairly good, but not as good as the rest of the hotel.

Wonderful staff, fabulous rooms and excellent staff! We lined it from the moment we stepped in and we’re greeted by friendly staff and a roaring fire.

The spa changing rooms were very cold but it really didn’t matter as we changed on our room and walked to spa in dressing gowns provided.
