Food, staff and location

Cosy room that was clean. Rooms are connected to the inn which made it easy to get to and from it. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food at the inn was great, the breakfast was also very generous in portion.

There is a small amount of parking which seemed to fill up quickly, but it is directly beside the rooms which was great for accessibility.

Nothing to not like ??

The whole experience was excellent. The staff were cheerful, friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. Our evening meal was excellent too

The packed lunch was not particularly good value

Location, staff, food all really excellent. Quiet. Well organised. Really friendly and relaxed staff. Evening menu superb, quality better than expected from the sample menu on website. Breakfast just what needed.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent and extremely good value. The breakfast was great. Lovely biscuits and toiletries in the room.

The pub does need a refurbishment, and felt very grubby in some areas.The stairs to the bedrooms were also near to the kitchen, and this looked very shabby and unclean.The rooms again were in dire need of refurbishment.

Lovely old character inn with really nice recently refurnished accommodation. We stayed for one night and booked a room (Willow) which was in the property next door to the pub. Really spacious and clean and finished to a high standard.Ate in the pub and food was excellent and staff really nice.Breakfast was very nice too, we had a cooked breakfast that you pre-order the night before.Good value and good location.

Nothing at all that we didn’t like but a couple of comments:The shower in the room was superb but it could have been a bit hotter. Having moved the dial past the ‘click point’ to increase the heat, it never got to a point where you were having a hot shower. Didn’t understand why the cutlery at breakfast was roughly scrunched and wrapped in a paper napkin? Everything else was presented so nicely and this was just odd and scruffy. Just leave a folded napkin with the cutlery presented on it or next to it.

Warm welcome, lovely newly refurbished room. Comfortable bed and amazing shower. Our evening meal was absolutely delicious as was the Breakfast

No surfaces to put things on

The food was excellent, proper Yorkshire portions! The room was clean and comfortable. Best bit was sitting next to the open fire of an evening with a drink - utter contentment.

Rooms are a little tired, but are clean and comfortable. I understand that they are refurbishing the rooms this year. Don't let it put you off.

Staff are friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent. Our room was more than adequate, with a large, very comfortable bed.

The noise attenuation is non existent between the downstairs bar/restaurant and the bedroom, so every conversation below can heard, late into the night.
