    • I don't even know where to start. A sweet old lady in a neighboring town questioned as to why on earth would we go to Northleach. I panicked and even tried to cancel this reservation - I'm happy that wasn't an option - in fact I wish I had chosen to stay here all 4 nights during our Cotswold's trip. From the moment we walked down the street from the bus stop, I kept telling myself it would be fine. Then I spotted the ivy-covered facade. My hopes brightened as we entered the front door of the pub. It was like stepping into a novel. Smokey fireplace pub with tufted chairs, sparkling bar where locals mingled, multiple dining 'rooms' where smaller gatherings would be intimate. The staff was there and immediately helped us get settled. When he opened our room, my heart nearly burst - to think that I almost cancelled. The room was modern yet felt so cozy. The window looked out over a courtyard. The bathroom was large and inviting - waterfall shower, soaking tub and a toilet that didn't require a macerator. We had a light dinner of beef coquettes and butternut squash soup. Then proceeded to roam the grounds. It is deceivingly MASSIVE. There were several courtyards, and a glass enclosed patio room that led into the main hotel area. I could see how this would be an amazing venue for receptions or business dinners. That first night - slipping into the most luxurious bedding I've ever experienced in a hotel was unbelievable. Silky smooth, but not tacky. Thick but not crunchy. Slept like a baby! The morning breakfast was equally stunning - my husband opted for the full English and I the eggs royal with salmon and hollandaise sauce. It was also a short bus to the famous Diddly Squat Farm - Farmer's Dog pub. The town of Bibury is also very close but there was a detour and we were rerouted through Cirencester. From there we were provided a council shuttle that took us there free of charge.
    • Lovely location, pleasant staff and a cute room.
    • room is very comfortable with fabulous bds and bedding. Beer garden is lovely to sit and eat in when weather is good.

    Cons -

    • I couldn't find a single thing to dislike. There really isn't anything to DO in Northleach other than visit the cathedral and prison (both worth the time). But as a quite place to start and end the day - it's perfect
    • Room was different from advertised and we had quite noisy group in the room next to us but that isn't the properties fault. Oh toilet sounded like it was going to explode whenever you flushed it.
    • breakfast was expensive

We stayed in room 11 and it was even better than we expected. Huge bedroom space and almost the space size bathroom with a standing bath and separate shower. The complimentary bramley products were great too! The included breakfast was delicious. Large portions and also a continental breakfast spread with pastries and fresh banana bread every morning. It was perfect. My husband and I also had a sunday dinner and it was one of the best we'd ever tried.

    Nothing!

The rooms are gorgeous, luxurious and much nicer than I was expecting. The building itself is beautiful and in a great location for exploring the Cotswolds. I loved that you can eat in the restaurant downstairs and even get food brought up to your room, delicious!

The only negative was I was waiting for quite a while when I arrived before anyone came to help me check in, but understandable as it is a busy pub as well as a hotel. Other than that, staff were very attentive.

The room was amazing as well as the evening meal and the breakfast and all the staff were amazing also. There was also parking here.

Nothing everything about our stay was fantastic.

    Did not eat at hotel

Our room was extremely hot so had to have the window open, thus we then had a problem with the traffic. Also the shower started dripping badly during late evening and woke us up. The area where the coffee/tea facilities was too small.

So clean, comfy beds, a gorgeous big room and a lovely deep bath!

    7LisaPosted on: 2-13-2025

    Tastefully decorated throughout.

Dodgy WiFi signal in room 3 despite being given access to the "non-guest" version.

    8LeverPosted on: 2-13-2025

The room was nicely appointed and the breakfast was very good.

We didn't have an evening meal as tte menu didn't really cater for vegetarians.

Fantastic location in a pretty village. Cosy warm room with a huge bathroom and extremely comfortable bed with good quality bedding. Ate in their restaurant which was excellent and as there was a set menu very good value for money!!

Our room was looking a little tired on the paintwork, some small damp patches but it is a very old building.

lovely room but could be designed a bit better had to move kettle to plug in tea tray had to go on floor but had all you needed and very comfy bed hard to use hairdryer in front of a mirror - breakfast was very nice - service at dinner very good

    dinner was average for price

Very comfy bed and well appointed room. Loved Room 2. Relaxing lounge bar downstairs and great village location.

    7AnnaPosted on: 1-24-2025

The location is great, staff friendly, delicious food and great breakfast

Although the room has everything needed, it was way too small for two people. To boil a kettle I had to put it on the floor next to the socket. The bathroom is very small, especially the distance between the toilet and the door.

Personal and friendly reception, great explanation of facilities, wonderful room, everything little detail of guests needs covered, and the breakfast was exceptional.

Great breakfast, perfect location in a beautiful village
