Cons -
- No! Loved it!
- Seven of us arrived by bike as part of a Rebellion Way tour. We'd booked three doubles for single occupancy and two twins. Only one twin had been prepared. Rectified later but frustrating for those whose room was not ready when we were all desperate to shower, change and have a rest. Then huge problems with running water in the bathrooms - I was mid shower when all water stopped entirely, presumably due to someone else taking a shower or bath. Very unpleasant having to shiver and wait 10 mins for water to return. Erratic heating in the bedrooms.
- It’s a pub/restaurant setup, and my room was facing the main road. Heating was through the aircon, which was a bit tricky to manage—it took about ten minutes to warm up. By 2 a.m., I had to switch it off because it got too warm and stuffy. You can also hear people moving around in the hallway, so overall, it wasn’t the most restful night.

The food was brilliant and the waitress we had was so friendly (young girls with a checked shirt and curly hair) She made us feel welcome Room was nice. We have stayed before and will stay again.
The staff were so friendly and helpful.Holly offered me two towels for my dog when he was wet without me asking. The breakfast was fabulous

Lovely old building. Large room which is was very stylish and comfortable. Staff were lovely and the food was proper home cooked pub grub. Loved it.
The shower wasn’t great.
The attention to detail. Comfort of the room. Food was really lovely.
Traffic could be heard in the front bedroom. This did not change I how felt as I still enjoyed my stay.
EverythingGood food, comfortable accommodation and attentive and friendly staff
the choice at breakfast was fantsic, the food was well cooked and top quality.
The lighting around the mirror in the bathroom could be better.
Thriving small town hotel with friendly staff who are willing to go that extra mile. Parking directly outside the hotel.Comfortable, cosy, and welcoming bar with roaring log fire.Food was excellent. Great choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Extensive choice of drinks.Exceptionally dog friendly, they even have their own menu!Very comfortable bedroom and bathroom, nicely decorated.
Stayed with my large dog and couldn’t have felt more welcome. The evening food in the restaurant and the breakfast in the bar were excellent, and the room was comfortable and well equipped. Dog biscuits and fresh milk were nice touches.
Nothing. If you wanted an early night and were a light sleeper, then there was a bit of noise from the restaurant and the road outside but it didn’t affect me.
Good location to where I needed to be. Room was of a good standard and comfortable. The food is good and plenty of choice and all the staff were very friendly and helpful.Unfortunately had to leave early so was unable to have breakfast.Would recommend it.
Stunning room, excellent service, imaginative menu and great location
Nice hotel, fires and good atmosphere bed was amazing. We couldn’t stay for breakfast so staff made us a great packed lunch
Advertised a welcome cream tea on arrival but that didn’t happen. No milk in the room for cup of tea,
Beautiful hotel, amazing food (dinner and breakfast) and helpful staff. Great value for money.
Lighting in the large bathroom could have been better.
Amazing breakfast, great food and the bathroom had a huge shower.
I have to say I’m only scoring one down due to the bed. Not too comfortable and the base was so old that I cut my leg on the far side base which had 1 very shape edge under worn fabric.
The friendly staff, the beautiful decor and the fabulous knowledge around coeliac disease complemented by a fantastic menu choice
Having to leave
Location,comfortable room and excellent food.
A lot of dogs
