- Room was very hot when we arrived because the radiator was probably on full as the weather recently had been cold. Our preference is to have a cool room but that’s our choice.

Dinner was very tasty but not very hot.
Beautifully decorated, lovely little snacks in the jars and bottles of water. Breakfast choice was excellent.

We booked our stay last minute as a stopover on the way to Devon. The location was ideal for this. They have a large, free car park. Our welcome on arrival was really warm & friendly. Our room was excellent, spacious, very clean & comfortable, with a great shower. The bar area was very inviting with the woodburner roaring! There was large range of ale, wines & spirits at good prices. We ate in their restaurant & the menu was very varied, with an Oriental twist. I particularly loved the nod to Bowie, with signed pictures & portraits! All the dishes we had were superb & the service good, attentive but not intrusive.Breakfast was also very tasty, particularly the eggs Benedict. I was especially impressed by the "low" price of this establishment, much cheaper than other places we've stayed in previously.I would highly recommend staying here for anyone heading to the West country.Great pub, great food, great staff.
The staff were friendly and helpfulThe room was big, the bed comfyThe bathroom was a good size with a double showerThere were complimentary drinks and snackswith tea and coffee making facilitiesMost importantly there was a hairdryer
The room was too hot for me and it wasn't easy to open a window. There was however a fan which I had beside me.
Large, comfortable bed, and spacious room.
Could only get a cold shower and received a large and quite serious burn on my right buttock when I accidentally touched the incredibly hot electrically heated towel rail. One member of staff said they would check the boiler... we never saw him again. I had to ask for the burn to be recorded in the accident book and inspite of being shown a picture of the first and second degree burn the manager falsified the entry rather than writing what I said. Also the room needed several small repairs that any even moderately sufficient maintenance regime would have fixed.
Breakfast was very good and we had a good dinner on the Friday night
Room was comfortable but the traffic noise was a bit annoying
Clean. Staff were welcoming and engaging. Food above average.
Poor WiFi; noise from main road into bedroom; room became too hot despite turning thermostat radiator valves to low.
Great location for breaking our journey down to South Devon we ate in the restaurant that evening it was very good and the breakfast the following morning set us up for the day ahead
Everything was amazing staff &room%food
The heating was on&off .the boiler was not working properly. Was a bit to hot
Breakfast ,was good location just about right staff excellent
Super location and great reception on arrival. Perfect stopover for us on the way to the North of Scotland. Super friendly and great evening meal with some local beer. Couldn't be better
Location to the vet school and surrounding areas. Breakfast was nice.
Food in the hotel far too expensive for what it is. Drinks also very expensive. This is pub food but paying more than anywhere else locally. Disappointing as we would have had more drinks and ate at the hotel if prices were sensible. Room was very warm. Room wasn't serviced during our 2 night stay
Great location as we had family who live in the Village. Staff fantastic. Amazing full English breakfast and pancakes.
Lovely location, lovely building, lovely food, lovely staff.
The bed in our room was way to soft, had no support whats so ever, came away with a bad back.
Beds were comfortable, breakfast was good.
Noise from ventilation at rear of hotel is very loud so sleep was broken at best, wifi not working in bedroom area, food stops at 8pm and bar was closed by 9.30 which is a little bit early. Sort the noise issue and this would be a good stay.
Great breakfast. Shower was brilliant. Plentiful parking.
Room was a little noisy from the road but it didn't interrupt our sleep. Overall experience was marred by the evening meal. I don’t know why chefs feel the need to add so much salt to their cooking. The massaman curry used all of the authentic ingredients and would have been fantastic apart from the excessive amount of salt, which was all I could taste half way through the dish. Needless to say, I left the rest. I did tell the young waiter about it and he said he would let the chef know. And that was that, I heard no more. I haven't included this annoyance in my rating because, as a B&B option, this was perfectly OK, which is what I paid for through Booking.com. I chose to eat there because the menu looked great.
breakfast was good dinner was good location good ,The staff were pleasant
The carpets on the stairs was filthy lots of chipped paint ,The shower had black stains everywhere. The room shook when lorries went past , I have stayed in other rooms that were so much nicer and had a much better experience .
