- Some staff seemed perhaps under trained in the restaurant. If they can resolve that issue it would make it a really good place to stay.
- The kettle can only manage to boil one cup of water at a time

Great location, room, restaurant
A room adjoining the walled garden - ground floor, so very convenient
The kettle can only manage to boil one cup of water at a time
We stayed in a dog friendly room which was super clean and spacious
lovely place
I’ll informed staff outside furniture not fit for purposewrongly advertised facilities
LOcation good and dining room. Food okay but expensive
Room poor as woken in middle of night by what sounded like a washing machine
View of garden from ground floor room. The room on the ground floor was a nice size and remote control curtains are a plus.
The room was very warm and unless patio door left open, no ventilation. The room was a bit tired, with black mould in shower, shower attachment frayed and broken, lime scaled up shower head, drinking water was hot from tap, charged £12 for 3 bottles of water and the water in the fridge was warm because it was turned off. Also, no mention of charging for the water from fridge. Stark contrast from the hotel we stayed at down the road with complimentary bottled cold water x4, juice x2, milk jug, slow gin... matteress was also past its replace by date.
fantastic place , bar and restaurant food amazing and staff were excellent x
This was our 3rd time at the Oaksmere but unfortunately we won’t be returning. There was no one on reception for check in or check out. We booked a suite and wished we had just stayed in a normal room and saved our money. There are holes and marks all over the walls. The room was freezing when we arrived and the heating would not work so had to sleep in our jumpers. The sound system was broken we did flag this and they said they needed to order a new part, the lady was very friendly but it didn’t solve the issue of not being able to use it which was a perk of booking a suite. The water wasn’t very hot so we weren’t able to use the jacuzzi in the bathroom and the shower temperature wasn’t consistent going from hot to cold so that was disappointing as it was another facility we couldn’t use. We weren’t able to flag this as there was no one available at check out. We wanted to make you aware of the issues as this isn’t up tho the 4* standard that is advertised. It is a shame as it was a regular stay for us but we will be looking to try somewhere else next time as it is not up the £200 a night standard we would expect! I have been trying to contact the hotels customer service team since January and am constantly ignored. Booking.com also tried to resolve the issue but were also ignored by the hotel.
Great food and staff room very hot and bad drain smell. Could be great if a few details sorted
Nice property and lovely location
Room hearers were ineffective so it was freezing!Didn't like seeing animal carcasses in the restaurant when walking through - eurgh
Nice Clean rooms lovely Bath Good facilities in the room
Charming place. Cool bar. Terrific breakfast.
The automatic gratuity for breakfast for service that didn't deserve a tip.
Pleasant
The bed in my room was slanted to one side, so much so that I had to put a pillow under the mattress as I was rolling across the bed so, all in all, an uncomfortable night
Room was lovely.. restaurant food was out of this world and staff very friendly
Like it all
Everyone was really nice and accommodating the food was delicious. The house in the restaurant is my favourite he’s lovely.
Sometimes is a weird smell that takes over the car park when you go outside
Such good value for money. The rooms are nicely designed and we love the extra thought that goes into the bathrooms - making it a spa experience inside your room. The hotel and restaurant were very ambient and the food was delicious
It was a bit unclear how to use the in room speaker system - we worked it out in the end but some extra instructions would have made this a bit easier
The hotel was beautifully situated and stunning inside, my room was very nice , spa bath a huge bonus
Phone in my room didn’t work, the lovely reception lady came up to help me with the Tv and tried to sort the phone out but it wouldn’t work.no big deal but a pain if I wanted room service . The reception isn’t covered so you have to wonder round to find a member of staff would be better if they had a bell there . But again no big deal
A relaxed welcoming feel by all staff
A small point - the toilet seat has a 'brown halo' - a stain on the rim. (As the owner of a domestic cleaning company I am afraid I can't help checking on details) - effectively removed with a magic sponge eraser.Get your cleaners to look up - plenty of active spiders at this time of year!
