location is great, historic area with opportunities to explore . hotel restaurant was very good

inadequate seating in room, otherwise no issues

The staff were wonderful - I had a really exceptional stay thanks to them. The room was also very comfortable with lots of small gestures such as petit fours and high quality milk for tea. Finally I really enjoyed the breakfast.

The temperature gauge in the shower didn't work but fortunately it was set to very hot so I had a very nice shower!

Location , decor , size , shower , attention to detail, and refresh of room every day.

Mattress could have been better quality , rather lumpy, wirey, toilet rolls not replaced.

Lovely hotel with a great pub underneath. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food in the pub is delicious and the rooms were gorgeous.

Pillows but personal preference!

Room a bit small for 2. The extractor fan in bathroom was not working so got very steamy

What a gem of a place!!! Room was stunning and the extra touches with the treats, were truly appreciated!!! We loved the food - dinner and breakfast. Staff were amazing especially at breakfast!!! Can’t wait to come back and have already booked for dinner for a special occasion and looking to book a stay for our friend’s 50th! Thank you!!

Welcoming and very friendly, which is so important when traveling alone for business. Will definitely be back.

Taxi failed to turn up to take me to my meeting the other side of town so I had to walk with my luggage - not ideal as late and rushed.

We enjoyed breakfast, the dining area and the bar area. The room was fine, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom spacious and well-stocked. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

The room was small, even though we'd ben upgraded: there were no easy chairs.

Our room is lovely and the extras in the room like petit fours was a lovely thought. Staff very friendly and helpful. Had dinner in evening too which was very nice and a good atmosphere in the bar. Hotel has lots of character still as an old building and has had a good refurbishment with quality fixtures and fittings and extras..

Only thing to say was the wait in the restaurant between courses was quite long of an hour each time before starters and in between for main. But restaurant was very busy and we just carried on chatting as waitresses were very nice and helpful when asked anything.

The room was spot on from its design, facilities and comfort.It’s even nicer just being a stones throw from some lovely walks/running routes and close enough to the station.

Very little not to like here, it was spot on for the price and location we needed.

The whole place is a gem. Staff from hotel, bar, and restaurant are friendly and helpful. The rooms are cozy and worth the price. Food at restaurant is tasty with good value for money. We enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back to celebrate more special moments with you. Thank you!

Everything was perfect

Nice location, nice building. I once stayed here before when it was a premier inn and it was quite run down.The place has been done out to a really high standard, looks like alot of money has been spent on the place.The bar restaurant area is very nice. Evening meal was lovely, can't comment on breakfast as I opted out.I had a snug double room which was one of the nicest rooms I've stayed in anywhere, and I stay away alot!Would definitely stay here again if working in the area.

Very disappointing you don't expect...

I didn't like the fact that i travelled over 4 hours to meet my partner with her Christmas presents to have the present stolen from the room while we was eating dinner the management was not interested at all so please people be careful when staying here protect your valuables

everything, the bed was the most comfortable bed ive slept in. the room decor was beautiful on both ocasions the food was delicious
