    Pros +

    • This is not a hotel, no food, no bar. This is more of a hostel. I certainly won’t be back.
    • Bed was ok
    • Convenient location snd good sized rooms

    Cons -

    • The hallway stunk like an ashtray. No coffee in the room. Bar and restaurant closed. Toilet was very loud. Stains and marks on the walls
    • Everything, this property is in need of upgrading and in my opinion shouldn’t be on booking.com as a place to stay in Buckie.
    • Got at the hotel, and on booking.com the ad for the hotel said, pets stay for free, the guy on the reception charged me £20, it also said they did food, they did no food at all, then on my last day the WiFi wasn't working at all, the owner wasn't interested in looking after his customers at all.

Convenient location snd good sized rooms

Being told on arrival I have to pay for my dogs to stay when I had said from the moment I booked. They also asked for the payment in cash which I didn't have but they were happy obviously for me to pay it when we checked out. I told and showed the staff member that the website states to additional charge and he said no they changed that and the cash is to give directly to the staff for the extra work to clean up dog hair. Not really my problem as my dogs don't shed hair. The booking also stated that they dont charge extra for the dogs which definitely was part of our decision make when booking the hotel. So we have paid an additional £40 on top of the agreed £250 for the stay. The rooms may have been big but the bathroom fan in room 10 was absolutely disgusting. The noise the toilet made when flushed was awful and woke you during the night. The floor boards we so uneven and noisy it didn't help with sleep.

The location was good for travelling. There was a good restaurant close by. No food at the Old Coach House. It was warm and comfortable.

    No view from hotel room.

    Not happy

No breakfast very little hot water no bar no restaurant

    Avoid like the plague

The place is a dump, the guy checked us in and said he would put the heating on for an hour as it was freezing, snowing outside. The heating came on for the hour at 4pm then went back off for the rest of the day. How the place is allowed to charge £50 per night per person is beyond me.

Nice friendly staff & very close to the made street.

The bathroom was freezing & had no extractor fan for when showering so it got very damp. It was too cold to open the window due to it being wintertime.

the locationwas central wich suited our needs it was clean staff very polite and friendly rooms were clean and tidy overall great experience

could do to put price for dogs on website as we werehit with a £60 chatge for our two dogs for the duration of our stay

Ideal centre of town location and bed was very comfortable and bed linen very clean and facilities matched the price. As a bed for the night with en-suite toilet and sink and basically nothing else it was decent value for money.

Room was small, shower being hot was intermittent at best. I could not use it and room finishes were old with pactches on wall where plaster had been repaired. Front desk was almost never staffed. I had to call a mobile number to get domeone to come back to hotel so I could check in. Also, no food facilities at all snd kettle in room was defective and did not cut out. Also, virtually zero disabled facilities.

Bed was so uncomfortable it would snapped your body in half. Toilet pan was mes still on it. Said online pets stay free no extra charge but was charged 10 pound on arrival. Holes in the wall. No hot water. Smelly carpets in toilet. Place was deserted like a ghost town

    3DugPosted on: 10-11-2024

There was no breakfast in fact there was nothing.

Only 2 sachets of coffee and only 2 tea bags is cheapNo hot water in the shower or sink

    Where it was situated

Very tired looking rooms. Very noisy floor boards right outside my room which everybody else staying in the hotel had to step on to get to their rooms. As a female alone I felt very uncomfortable in my room everybody time someone passed my room. Doors to room don’t fit well and let in a lot of noise and light. Because of flooring outside my room9 I was woken every time someone passed by and this was till late at night and started again very early6 ish in morning . Not very relaxing. Wi-Fi didn’t work either. Bed was uncomfortable and hard. The pillow consisted of two flat pillows in one pillowcase. On a plus side room was very clean

    4JoshuaPosted on: 10-1-2024

    Disappointing

Felt the stay was very expensive for the condition of the room I was given. There was a number of broken floorboards under the carpet, a broken shower hose and the door latch did not fill me with confidence.

    8RebeckaPosted on: 9-29-2024

The staff was so friendly and helpful and nice!! Makes me want to come back just for that reason. The room was also nice- it was what I expected and had everything I needed. Mind it's an old building and an old hotel, but for that sake well kept, if you ask me. Reminded me a lot of hotels I'd stay at with my folks when I was a kid, in a nice and nostalgic way.

Some of the interior could probably get some new decorations and so, maybe some renovations could be done, but all in all I found it good. I don't have a lot to complain about. I don't have a lot of money, so I wish there were cheaper rooms available, but on the other hand I got a really good room for the price I paid, so it's fine- it's no more expensive than other hotels anyway.

Ideal for the budget, easy check in, clean and tidy

Shane they couldn’t offer food ie breakfast, Sandersons offer great dinner, just round the corner

I arrived in pouring rain on my bicycle and the receptionist offered to put some wet clothes through the dryer. I was able to charge up my e-bike and with the room heating I was able to overcome the cold and wet. Also the hotel owner is very obliging.

    1LindaPosted on: 9-17-2024

    It was near my relatives

We were met at our room door by a young man clearly on drugs. Window in room had a broken lock and would not shut. The receptionist said she knew the young man we mentioned, but he was “ harmless”. Our relatives said the owner is accommodating homeless and junkies in the town and it was well known

Firstly, Katie. What a honey. From the first to the last minute, she made me feel like family. There was never a no, and she helped me dry some clothes. She washed me well as I left, which was hard for me to do.

I loved the quiet room and loved having what, 200 channels on the TV and immersing myself in some old favourites.I just loved the old world feel in such a historic village. A very special time. Thank you, Katie, and the cleaning lady and her daughter.
